Has anyone booked an Aft Verandah Cabin on the Zuiderdam

My wife and I have booked the Magic of the Mediterranean cruise on the Zuiderdam. It's a 24-day cruise leaving out of barcelona on 25 June 08. We have reserved a Deluxe Verandah outside cabin on the Upper Promenade deck. Has anyone been in these cabins and what was their experience? I know it is on the very back (Aft) of the ship. Cabin number is 4181.

We very much appreciate your feedback, both pro's and con's.

    Thanks.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

I looked at that cruise and it is a fabulous itinerary. You should have a great time.

I haven't been on the Zuiderdam but I have been on the Oosterdam, which is a sister ship. I like the aft cabins best because there is very little wind when you are out on your balcony, as compared with side balconies. Also your view is the best because you get to see to the left and right. The only con I can think of it that there is more movement on the aft of the ship but I happen to like it, so it is not a problem for me.

We have never had an aft cabin on any of the Vista class ships.

I understand that when the Zuiderdam comes out of dry dock, some of the aft cabins won't be as large as they were due to HAL adding more aft cabins.

Look for the new Explorations Cafe up by the Crows Nest.

    Have a great cruise.

Verandah AFT cabin on the Zuiderdam

Thanks for your reply. I would like to hear your thoughts on this cabin. Also interested in finding information on the layout of the cabins after the drydock.

    Thanks.
