I've contacted HAL about setting up a Meet and Greet for both cruises. Will post again when everything is finalized.
That sounds so great!!
I Hope you will get some people to join you on the Meet and Greet.
Cruise number 5 for us in a row -- and nothing!!!

Stopped counting after 110 cruises.
I have received a response from the Special Events Co-ordinator for the MS Westerdam. The Meet and Greets are scheduled as follows:
Monday - February 4, 2008 - 3:30/4:30PM in the Crows Nest
Monday - February 11, 2008 - 3:30/4:30PM in the Crows Nest
Hopefully a staff member will join us (has always happened before). Please let me know if you plan on attending. I have been requested to provide a head count,
HAL will provide refreshments.
Does HAL ever supply complimentary liquor at M&G's? I've heard they sometimes do. If so, I wonder what, in your opinion, constitutes the deciding factor. Thanks for the response, in advance. Also, I've only ever joined one group for meeting on the first day of the cruise. Do people sign up early or just before they cruise? I appreciate any comments you may have...![]()
The meet and greet list is determined by Roll Calls. Some of the Roll Calls attract quite a few people who are all sailing at the same time. Then one person takes charge - usually the person who starts the Roll Call thread -- and contacts Seattle and makes arrangements for the Meet and Greet. Sometimes it is held on the first day around sailaway time, sometimes it is held the next day - either morning or afternoon.
We met 3 Fan on the Volendam Nov 2006 - it was a very nice group of people. At that time James Deering was still working for HAL and he also arranged for Champagne and Bloody Mary's. Most of the meet and greets just provide cookies, water, coffee.
That was the last meet and greet we were at and we have done 5 cruises since then. I signed up on the Roll Calls and absolutely nothing came of them. Now I just go and read the Roll Calls for a couple of our upcoming cruises -- just talk -- no mention of a meet and greet.

I understand how the M&G's are arranged, KK. We joined our roll call last year for the Noordam and it was a fun experience. I just wondered if it's unusual not to have too many people at a roll call. I've seen some on CC which go on for months. I guess it depends on the individual group of people cruising at the time.
Thanks for your response...![]()
