    Hi Cindy,
Thought I would grace your roll call. Hope you are having a nice day. It looks very warm in No. Cal. We will be heading to Reno in 2 months for a family visit and Hot August Nights.

How good are you at Blackjack. I used to live in Las Vegas and I found the game interesting my husband Jim no longer plays but he grew up in Reno and is quite good at it. I was curious since you and Alan play when you cruise. Do you go to Reno and Vegas as well?

Gambling can be fun. I play slots occassionaly would rather buy jewelry but I recently cruised and won $300 just goofing around.

    Take care,
    Rhonda

Hi Rhonda..Glad you made it over here. Funny you ask about Reno, we have booked our rooms for the week after the 4th of July. We usually stay at the Eldorado, but since we have a players card at Fitzgeralds we got an offer in the mail to stay there FREE during the week. We are going with a couple of friends of ours.
We drive up and then spend a couple of nights, eat at Roxie's for dinner which is pretty good. Play some roulette (number 7) and blackjack. It is strange going from cruise casinos to the real deal. You can touch the cards in Reno..but not on the ships. Different rules and games around BlackJack as well. I throw a coin or two into the slots...cause you never know when it will hit the BIG ONE...

Wish me luck in a couple of weeks so I win enough to pay for this year's cruises....

We will be there the first week of August for Hot August Nights and family stuff. We go to the Great Basin Brewing Co. in Sparks. It is in Victorian Square just a few blocks down from John Esquagas Nugget. I do not stay at the hotels Jims family resides in the Reno and Sparks area. Try the Brewing Co. great microbrews and the food is pretty good.

Jim and I met almost 8 years ago in Central Nevada where I was hiding out during my nasty divorce from my first husband the abusive king (he has since passed away) who told me to get out of Vegas cause it wasn't big enough for both of us. He was very much like Tony Soprano but I was not like Carmella. My ex and I have a 26 year old daughter Rachel who is visiting Jimmy and I now in Florida. Jim and I became friends, and then I moved into his home is Santa Rosa Ca. 2 years after my divorce we married in Sonoma Ca. at The Generals Daughter.

I was back in Vegas in December of 2006 and surprised at all the changes. I hate the penny slots and the new games. Vegas always changes I lived there for 7.5 years and I felt like a tourist this time.

    Till later

    Hey Rhonda....

Wow you have had some tough life experiences. We will see about the Brewing Co. We usually hang out near the Eldorado and those casino's close by.

I have eaten at the General's Daughter - upstairs we had a Christmas Party for my work a few years ago. My territory was the Napa, Santa Rosa and Sonoma areas.

I just found out today from my big boss that we are having an offsite in Vegas on October 2, 3 and 4th. The problem is that DH and I leave for our Hawaiian cruise on Diamond Princess October 4th out of LA. This means I will need to fly from Vegas to LA and meet him at the airport to catch the ship and coordinate all the packing and flights. YIKES....

    Cindy,

It sounds like bedlam to me. I used to multi task as a way of life but in the last 5 years I have chosen to lay back a bit. I help my husband run his business and shop, blog, cook, and cruise as much as possible.

I have my MBA and used it to run a trucking company that I started with a friend in 1979 in NYC it was very profitable and after 13 years I walked away in good shape and moved to Vegas. Since then work has been a four letter word for me. Although I have to admit sometimes I get bored and lonely when everyone else is working.

Good luck coordinating I know you will be just fine.

    Till later

    Hey Cindy,

I have always been interested in ther Panama Canal Cruise, we had booked it for 2004 and then we decided to move and everything changed. So we cancelled the cruise. It was on Celebrity but I cannot remember what ship I believe it was the Summit. It was over 3 years ago and I have forgotten.

Hope all is good for you today. Talk later.

    Hi Rhonda...

We have always wanted to do Panama...so we flipped from the Alaska to the Panama...much nicer weather...lol

We have also canceled the Wayman Tisdale cruise in January...I think my $$ will go farther on another cruise later in the year. My office buddy "Alan" may not be too happy when he hears that...

    Have a great week!
    Cindy
