Hi Char, and thanks for the welcome!

Yes, we have done a TA before, on Constellation from Dover to NYC. Loved it! Can't wait for this one!

Will check out the intro forum; thanks for the link!

    Regards,

DH and I are doing the TA from Barcelona to Gal. Any info about how to get to Houston from Galveston? This is our first long cruise, and I'm far too excited for it to be sooo far away.

    Hi mamay2!

Sorry to be so long replying! This has been a hectic few weeks.

Re: Galveston, there are a number of ways to get to IAH (Houston Intercontinental is your destination?)

Hobby is closer, but doesn't have as many flights.

You can rent a car one-way. Unfortunately, we arrive in Galveston on a Sunday, when some of the rental car offices are closed. You could try calling Enterprise or Hertz, though, and see what they say?

There are some shuttles and limo services mentioned on other boards, though we've never used them since we live within driving distance of the port:

    NGRD stretch limos, www. anrgd.com

Shuttle service: GALVESTON LIMOUSINE SERVICE, INC. - Galveston, Texas

    Texas Cruise Ship shuttle, 281-443-4430

    RCL's shuttle service

    Coach USA

    Gulf Coast Limousine, 888-563-5466

    index

And there are others listed at galveston.com.

HTH! Look forward to meeting you on board ... it's really not that far away now, either, is it?!

    Regards,
    Jan

We are seriously considering this cruise. We were booked on the Voyager TA that is heading over to Barcelona right now, but had to cancel for some health problems.

As soon as we get the all clear from the doctors we will be booking! I'll let you know when we are on board.

    We LOVE the sea days!

Thanks, Jan Hoping to know in a month or so. Maybe we will get a fire sale price! We have done that on 2 TAs and the crossing was less expensive than a 7 day Caribbean. And we got an aft balcony on one of them!

Char, will be keeping fingers crossed that you get good news next month.

Re: fire sale prices, yep, these ta's can be quite the bargain! They are having a senior rate sale on this one right now, and our great TA was able to get us a significant reduction in our already-low fare for an aft balcony. Yay!

I do love a bargain ... then I don't have to feel guilty about those $$$ martinis and shorex!

    Later!

Coming with you did the trip to BCN a couple days ago. Met you on the NOS last years T/A to Southhampton with the Admiral Roz.
