    Vision Class Ships

Just returned from the Vision of the Seas and submitted a review in the cruise review section (I think) (it said invalid file so I don't know if it went through or not)

Just wanted to say don't forget the Vision Class Ships.........I forgot how nice they still are and how uncrowded they are. These are forgotten jewels in the RC fleet. If you aren't in to all the bells and whistles of the Voyager Class ships.........don't forget to take a look at the Vision Class ships.

This cruise ranks in our top 3 to date.............what a great experience. I forgot how nice these Vision Class Ships can be.

    A great cruise experience.

Legend is a Vision Class Ship Ally............you are in for a treat! As I said, I forgot how much we loved those smaller ships.

I have been thinking about a Med or Baltics from her home port of Southampton for Autumn 07, seeing as the Alaska and Caribbean are out of the question. And I do prefer the small/medium ships too.

One thing I do want to compare RCI with NCL with is actually getting to the port of departure, when it is in the UK. My Transatlantic next year with NCL has a free flight from my local airport and a coach from Heathrow to the ship at Dover. I am intrigued to find out if RCI will do the same, with a free flight from my local airport to Southampton airport and transport to the ship aswell.

Smaller.......not as many bells and whistles.

    1900 passengers vs. 2400 passengers.
No specialty restaurants on the Vision Class (except those being stretched)
Windjammer on Vision is one line for everything, although never a line...Radiance Class has buffet stations, one for entrees, salad, hamburgers, dessert etc.

Solarium a little larger on the Radiance and a larger exercise room

No concierge lounge on the Vision Class and the Radiance Class does.

    Both have rock climbing walls.

Radiance has Seaview Cafe and Vision does not.

Both are well designed with many public area's to sit down.

Radiance Class has a few more bars.

    Radiance is newer of course

Both have plenty of glass and are very bright and provide great views from inside the ship.

Shop area might be a little larger on the Radiance Class Ships.

Those are the major changes............Radiance just a little larger with more passengers and a few more bells and whistles.

    Do both count?

I think it depends on itinerary.........for the Mexican Riviera, Vision Class was more than adequate. For longer cruises like our 15 day Panama Canal in october of 06, the Radiance would be better (and it is the Radiance ship by the way)......it will have a concierge lounge and now that we are Diamond we may as well use it and get those free cocktails everyday. I also think with a longer itinerary, the more the ship has to do the better so you have many options and don't go stir crazy..........

They are both great...........but if they were the same price, same itinerary etc..........I would choose Radiance Class...........but would not hesitate at all to go again on Vision Class..........if that is the worst RC has to offer........it is one great class of ship.

You had a grand suite on the vision, right? How did it compare in size to the JS on the Radiance class?
