Thread: Vision OTS - June 19 2010 - Scandinavian Capitals.

We booked this cruise a few days ago.
Its short - its sweet and its a "just because" cruise

The itinerary is:

Stockholm (august 8)
at sea (august 9)
Gotemburg (august 10)
Oslo (august 11)
Copenhagen (august 12)

We plan to fly in to Stockholm 1 or 2 days before the cruise.
We are staying in Copenhagen for the day as we have a 9pm flight home.

Anyone else going???

Is there no one who has the urge to fly over from the States to do a 4 days Scandinavian cruise??

I might have to do the June 19 sailing instead - The ports are almost the same but the cruise starts in Oslo - Copenhagen - Talinn - Stocholm.
Its all up to my boss now

The cruise is still short, its still sweet and its still "just because"

Itin is as follows:

June 19 Oslo
June 20 Copenhagen
June 21 At Sea
June 22 Talinn
June 23 Stocholm

Stay onvernight in Stocholm and fly home June 24th
I think we will fly out to Oslo the morning of the cruise.
Oslo is only a 40 minute flight from where we live.

Lars, The prices on these short cruises are always so tempting. We are looking at the June 23rd or 27th Stockholm to Stockholm. It is a bit more than the Oslo to Stockholm and we can take a bus from home to the ship and return. The reason we have not booked is that we are also looking at total cost of a week in London, one of our favorite places in the world. Lee

London is one of my favorite cities in the world also. I used to live there for 5 years you know.

This cruise is a steal, thats why we are doing it.
I have been looking at the 4 days out of Stocholm too but we will do a baltic cruise next year.

I wanted to ask you; what is there to see and do in Stockholm???

I must say I have been so busy visiting the rest of europe I am not an expert on Stockholm. I will do some serious research and pick the brain of my extended family members. Then I will get back to you. I am going to take a look at our schedule and if we decide to sail out on the day you arrive, or if wee are not working on the day you arrive, maybe we can get together. It would be fun for us to meet you. Although I have not seen it myself, I think the Vasa Skeppet is worth a look. Great old viking ship. There is also a fab covered market, Östermalm, with lots of great swedish stuff for a great lunch. The tivoli Gröna-lundis also can be fun. Old town has lots of shops and is great for people watching. I think you said you would be there overnight so a pass on the tunnel-bana is a good idea. In fact, you might be able to get a "city pass" which will give you transport and admission to lots of sites. Lee

Lee, we will stay overnight from June 23 to June 24.
I really appreciate you picking the brains of your family members Vasa is a must I guess.....I thought walking around the city was a good sight in itself.
I would love to meet you so if you have the time I would be delighted.
You know, you could also take this cruise Its only 4 days and the inside and ov is a steal ($304 and $404 pp)
