Wink Do you know the way to Vancouver?

Airfare into Vancouver is generally more expensive than into Seattle.
Transfers are available from Seattle to Vancouver and the cruise port,
hopefully it will be Canada Place.

Amtrak also serves Vancouver with both train and bus connections from Seattle. Amtrak serves Seattle with direct service from Los Angeles and intermediate points on the Coast Starlight. Service is also available from Chicago on the Empire Builder.

These trains offer sleeping cars with various classes of bedrooms available and also have lounge car and dining car service. Coach service is also available, but I wouldn't suggest that for overnight travel.

VIA Rail in Canada also serves Vancouver with 3 times weekly direct service from Toronto. The "Canadien" is one of the most spectacular trains I've ever been on, both in service and scenery.

I have traveled almost almost a quarter of a million miles on Amtrak and VIA Rail and would be glad to provide more info and answer any questions about the services available.

Now you all know why my handle is Reggierail.

Most likely you'll be leaving from Ballentyne Pier. Over the past 2 years RCI has rarely used Canada Place.

And airfare to YVR is not necessarily more expensive than it is to SEA. Sometimes they are just about the same, or sometimes airfare may only differ by a few dollars, which makes it worth it to arrive into YVR. Its more convenient. Additionally, the cost of transportation from SEA to YVR may be more than the price difference of flying into the two airports.

In addition to Amtrak, you might want to consider renting a car one way from SEA to YVR. Some companies, such as Enterprise allow one way rentals. Check with the individual car rental companies.

Or you can check out www.quickcoach.com
they offer shuttle services between SEA and VYR. The cost is about $40+ each way.

Here's a look at the distance between Canada Place & Ballantyne.

Note that Canada Place is considered to be located in Downtown Vancouver. Thats where you'll find most of the hotels and tourist attractions
