The London Cruise Terminal is in the county of Essex on the north bank of the River Thames and just 7 miles from the M25 motorway.

Arrival by car:

From the West
Leave the M25 at Junction 30 and follow the A13 eastbound (Tilbury and Southend). Take the A1089 (third exit off A13) which is dual carriageway, to the “ASDA” roundabout. The second exit off the roundabout takes you over the railway – the entrance to the Port of Tilbury can be seen on the right hand side. Continue past the port entrance, over the first mini roundabout and turn right at the second mini roundabout. (The London Cruise Terminal will be seen immediately in front of you at this point.) Immediately off the roundabout bear sharp left into the car park.

From the East
Follow the A13 towards the M25 and leave at the A1089 exit. Continue as above.

Tilbury Fort

Just a few minutes walk from the London Cruise Terminal, Tilbury Fort is the finest and best preserved example of 17th century military engineering in England. Throughout the 18th and early 19th centuries, Tilbury and the batteries at Gravesend across the river, formed the first line of defence for the Thames and London. Today, exhibitions, the powder magazine and bunker-like 'casemates' demonstrate how the fort protected the city. There's even a chance to fire an anti-aircraft gun!

Audley End House & Gardens

Described as one of the great wonders of the nation when it was built by the first Earl of Suffolk, Lord Treasurer to James I, it was on the scale of a great royal palace and indeed became one when Charles II bought it in 1668. Not only is the house worthy of a visit, but the landscaped park, created by Capability Brown and Victorian Gardens, complete with magnificent parterre, are a day out in themselves.
