Why, penguins? (Other than the fact that they are cute and adorable)

this is the discovery ship at the waterfront with the visitors centre on its history. I gather the penguins are connected to the ship and its voyage to antartica. There are also two large king penguins outside the centre as well. I have not lived in Dundee for 23 years so i am not up todate with the latest developements in town. I was told it was captain Scott,s expedition, will need to find out more about the history, apart from it being built as a whaling ship. chrisitne
