    Barrow in Furness

Barrow in Furness is a town in Cumbria famous for ship and submarine building. It is also the port for "the lake district" one of the most beautiful parts of the UK.

Stephen, have you ever been up there? What was your favorite thing to do?

I am at a total loss for distances in England. If one is in London, would one drive out there and would it be a day trip or require an overnight stay?

    Hi Neal

I have never actually been to Barrow in Furness, but I have been to the lake district and it is beautiful.

It's about 300 miles from London so not a day trip; however, it would be worth it

Stephen, is that picture taken in the winter? I notice snow on the mountains.

No, I was on dry land at the time. There are lots of boats that take tours of the lake though. Yes there is snow on the mountain, but the pictures were taken in winter, the snow is usually all gone by about March.
