Neal - still waiting for you to ask what is a Rolls Cunardley. Or do you already know the answer!! Cars are a guy thing - you must know what model that is surely?

1.rolls canardlyA fancy-sounding yet affectionate name for a car that is even less functional than a hoopty. A car might be called this because "it rolls down one hill, and canardly get up the next".

Exact origin unknown, but it is a pun on Rolls Royce, a particular expensive make of motor vehicle, and "Canardly", I believe a make of small passenger aircraft.

Thank you Helen for the answer! Got to love the British understated play on words.

I wonder if the old German Trabbies can be considered a Rolls Canardly? One of the great cars of all times. Fill up the gas tank and the car doubles in value.......

When Mom and Dad lived over there they had a Fiat. I know it was standard transmission. I wonder how hard that would be to learn to shift with the other hand.

try and start the car in first ... we call it "kangaroo petrol", obviously without depressing the clutch.
