I can see why there is an increase. More and more UK citizens are enjoying cruising, however, do not enjoy the flights over to the USA. As cruising gets more popular I can see some expansion in the Port taking place.

Jonty - We here in Texas feel the same way. For years, places like Florida were considered the center of the cruise universe. After September 11, it just became a real pain to fly, espcially for a cruise, because of the time and luggage limitations involved. We began by getting the "castoffs" of the cruise fleets. But then, the facilities improved, the customer base grew, and now the cruiselines are sending newer and bigger ships here. From what I read, Europe and Texas are similar in this regard and the day is coming (actually here for some places) where a new ship goes directly to one of our ports!
