Wink Geting from Harwich to LHR

Can anyone recommend a cab company to get us to LHR the morning we dock in Harwich?

There may be 5 couples. Trying to get an idea of rates and any good "deals" that folks would like to share.

Any information you can share will be appreciated.

Marion

Marion. I was doing some research on this earlier as I was thinking about doing this itinerary in 2007.

here is the information I got

http://www.tripboards.com/showthread.php?t=2150
http://www.cruiselineforums.com/foru...ad.php?t=10796

check out that thread.

it appears that since there is quite a distance between LHR and Harwich that it would be best to purchase RCI transfer or take the train

We used RCCL's transfers to the airport from Harwich....the transfers were there upon arrival and dropped us right off at the doorstep of the terminal.

Marion, as has been suggested, RCI may be the least expensive way to get to Heathrow.
I will provide you with a site for a company but you'll have to get a quote from them. The prices they have listed won't show what you require.

Ten people and all the luggage means one of the biggest vans they have. They have a 16 passenger van and could remove seats to accommodate luggage but that still might not be enough room. They do have a trailer, which for an extra charge, could carry more luggage.
To give you an example, 1 person from Central London to Harwich in a small car is about $220. A group rate may cut a deal but it won't be cheap.

thats a whole bundle. that may affect my decision as to whether to take a cruise out of Harwich or Copenhagen...

thanks for the information!

Alisa....reread that....$220--that's for a private transfer, not the RCI transfer...you'll want to call RCI to find out what their costs will be!

Jodi, thanks! I knew Micki was talking about private transfer. I can't imagine that RCI transfer would be more than like $80 per person or something like that.. But thats still quite a bundle. I'm just saying that its a consideration on choosing a cruise.

I'd really really love to do Jewel, you already know how much I love Jewel... but all signs seem to be pointing towards a HAL cruise out of Copenhagen for me right now. We'll see though. What I really need is for cruise prices to be released!

I also need to find out from RCI if I can purchase just transfer without the air and hotel package...

This company in particular comes very highly recommended.

I'm still hoping you choose Copenhagen though.
