Harwich, England

How far is Harwich from London? How would I get there? Would I need ships transfer, or could I go it on my own? Anybody have any experience with this?

Thanks in advance!

Harwich is about a 2-hour drive from London. You could get there via cab or purchase RCCL transfers...we had RCCL transfers as we got a pre-cruise hotel and airfare all through one package. You may want to consult with RCCL as to what they recommend...I've read on other boards that people have purchased RCCL transfers to get to the port.

Thanks Jodi. I'll have to look into our different options. I am assuming that either purchasing transfers or taking a train would be the easiest way to go.

Taxi would probably be costly due to the distance.

Is public transportation, or really the train system, in London pretty easy to navigate?

Alisa-we had a HAL transfer from London to Harwich, by bus--about 2 hours. I don't know if it is easy to use the trains but the good news is that there is a train station adjacent to the cruise, and I mean really adjacent. So if you do take a train, you won't have any problems getting to your ship.
