Carnival Holiday 06/07/08

Hola!
This was a 5 day Carnival Holiday Cruise out of Mobile, Alabama.
We went to Progreso, Yucatan Mexico and Cozumel, Mexico.

First off, Mobile, Alabama, I was pleased with it, it was really kind of pretty.
The port was kind of weird, and mostly outside.

Now, the ship. I was very un-happy. It is the smallest ship from Carnival, and it was very old.
It was made somewhere in the 80's. There was not a whole lot to do for Teens. Although i did all of the adult activities like What's In The Bag, Trivia, Lido Deck Games, and stuff like that. LOL There was not too much for the children. 2 pools, 2 hot tubs, mini-golf, water slide, and ping pong. It all got old, really quite fast.

Progreso was gorgeous. The ocean was quite murky, but you didn't have to pay if you went down about 100 yards. Also, there was only 1 recommended shop by my cruise lady. If you go past all of the shops after you take the shuttle bus into town, you will run into authentic Mexico, it was awesome! Don't forget to take the shuttle bus into town though! There is like a little place after you get off the ship, where there are some shops and bars, DON'T STOP THERE!!! Go threw those and take the shuttle bus into town! It's only like a 5 minute ride! Many people think when they get to those shops, that is it, so they leave very unsatisfied.

Now, Cozumel. I'm sure many of you guys have been to Cozumel, Mexico if you have cruised before. This place is a classic, it never gets old. Great shops, great food. PERIOD.
And make sure to get all the free coupons and stuff like that from your agent lady on the ship before you go, you can get a lot of free jewelry and gems.

That's my review! Enjoy!

We haven't cruised with a teen on Carnival, but could in the future so this is interesting that there's not too many teen activities. Was it the same on the Glory? I know my girl has enjoyed the small kids' program (she was 23 months on her first cruise, on the Holiday, so she just missed it; 3 years old on the Paradise; 4 years on the Ecstacy).

Was there plenty of kids onboard, especially your age? How was the teen room set up? When did you go? I've noticed that some cruiseships have more of a limited kids' program when there are fewer kids onboard.

There were plenty of kids
I think it's just because on the Glory i was 14, so i was in Camp Carnival, and on the Holiday, im 15, so im in Club O2.
Theres not really that many activities that go threw for club o2. and its a lot harder to make friends there.

i really enjoyed camp carnival and circle c though

Thanks, good to remember, I always try and leave the port and see what is out and about.. My last cruise my GF and I did no excursions and just explored, kind of "winged it" and loved it...

You can always hop in and out of shops when you get back and realize you still have an hour before you need to be back on board...

And to your DON'T STOP THERE comment, do not know if you will get this or not, but I am Irish, passing a Bar is not allowed in my religion ..
