I hear you!!!
its time to get this Trip Report going now. I have never done one before so how and where to start????
IŽll fast forward to arrival at Rome airport Flumicini as our drive to Valencia airport and the Clickair flight was very pleasant and uneventful.
We where some of the first once to get of our flight and as it was the first time we flew with Clickair we where very anxious to see if they had managed "the airlines ultimate test", getting ALL our luggage to Rome, so we headed for luggage claim.
But not as easy as we thought. For some reason we ended up in a queue for immigration and passport control!!! Very strange as there is no passport control within the Schengen countries. But there seem to be no other way out so we waited in line until it was our turn.
After a short while I got called forward to the immigration officer and he asked for my passport. I said: "my passport???" he replied: "Yes, your passport". I handed it to him and he just looked at it. He then asked for my boardingcard. I thought why the heck does he want my boarding card for?? But as the saint I am I gave him my boardingcard slip with the luggage ID sticker.
He looked at what was left of my boarding card very confused and asked me "where are you going??" I replied, Chivitavecchia, In perfect Italian no less. I must admit I was very pround that someone had acually asked me where I was going since I had practiced the pronunciation on the flight over. Its not easy to say Chivitavecchia and not pronounce Shit-e-vekkia!!!
The Officer then rolled his eyes and made hand guestures like I was some stupid, lost tourist away from home for the first time. He said, "You are in the wrong line you have to go back". I looked at him and said: "go back?? where??" . He growled " You go back down and door to the left"
We followed his happy instructions and guess what?? We found a door with a sign (sort of anyway) saying baggage claim, Schengen countries!!!!!! YESS !!

How could we have missed that one I do not know??? I will justify it with only manage to sleep 2 hours before our 4am departure from our house in Spain.
Anyway, we got ALL our luggage. 2 suitcases already weighting 35 Kg and 2 carry-ons of 10 Kg each!!! Travel light is not a word we seem to know yet...LOL.., and headed for the train station paying very good attention to the signs.
Found it easly enough but could not see any lifts as the station is 2 levels up!! There must have been som lifts but we decided to drag our luggage up 1 set of stairs, have a rest and up the last set of stairs to the platform.
The queue for train tickets where long so we bought them from the "tast ticket" machine. Waited only a few minutes for the train, got all our belongings onboard. There was even space for the luggage!!!!!!!! Not very common as you will reade about later. The train ride to Rome Termini station took us 30 minutes and was very comfortable.
In Rome we bought our tickets to Chivitavecchia. (you can get the tickets at the airport too) Walked to the platform as the train was about to leave shortly.
I cant belive we acually did the drag luggage to train, take train, change train, drag luggage buisness but its was alright acually. Very fast, easy and comfortable. I usually take the transportation that takes me fastest and easiest from point A to B. Ofcourse the difference in taking the train from the airport to Chivitaveccia instead of a Taxi saves you Euros 140,-!!!!!
