There are so many things we like to do in Tortola it's hard to pick which we've enjoyed the most.
Our times at The Baths of Virgin Gorda are unforgetable! Brewer's Bay is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled places we've ever been. Taking the B.V.I Sail & Snorkel (the 5 hour... not the 4 hour) with a snorkel stop at Norman's Island and on to a beach bar, Pirates Bight, is probably our very favorite.
After shore excursions we've walked around in town OnOurOwn. That gets old in a hurry!![]()

I've only been to Tortola once. November 2005, off the Volendam. Took Holland America's offering "Tortola's Secrets," at $49.
My post-cruise diary comments were: "Pusser's Landing was impossibly crowded, with visiting yachtsmen as well as many cruise-ship guests."
My brother sailed his own yacht into Pusser's Landing many times in the 70s and 80s. He claims that it was always Paradise, but I've also hear him rant against the crowds and traffic!
Still, I remember it as a beautiful island, not quite so crowded as St. Thomas or other cruise-passenger-crowded venues!

Our time was short - 1pm or so departure. So we just walked around a bit looking for something I saw on a map but never made it.
Very pretty island we want to return.

SWR ... So agree with you on Pusser's Landing. We've been there on a land trips and it was crowded even on days without cruise ship passengers. I did sort of like it anyway ... lots of places to eat. Many of our friends are "boat people" so we get a kick out of this sort of thing.
Dan ... Hate those "short port days" ... and book through the ship when we have them so we can at least do something and let them worry about getting us back to the ship on time.![]()

LuLu,
I agree and we wanted too however they were all 7/8am things and well...not going to get up that early.
When picking a cruise we try to find one with a few sea days, after all we are there to relax... Up early out all day sightseeing is not relaxing![]()

Hear you, Dan! There have been times when we didn't book a shore excursion in a port because what we wanted was leaving way too early for us.
