Thanks for the report LuLu. Reminds me of the drive to the Asa Wright Nature Center in Trinidad, lots of winding, narrow roads, with no guardrails, and a huge drop down below. I driven that road many times myself.
We saw Tortola from St John's last November on our Crown Cruise.

Actually, the extremely STEEP drop offs getting to Brewer's Bay seemed worst to us. You'd like Brewer's Bay Beach, I think, because you do appreciate the Natural Beauty of a place.
Nothing ... absolutely nothing compares to the BEAUTY of going to Asa Wright! Only been once to the actual Nature Center (other times just to Marco Beach) but it was AWESOME -- it's the rain forest by which all others should be judged! It was more of what I expected a Rain Forest to be than I've ever seen elsewhere. Even little parrots were flying around when we were there ... and it was so GREEN!
BUT ... BUT ... BUT .... While the scenery of Tortola's mountain drive can't compare with Trinidad ... Brewer's Bay is much better than Marco Beach. Still, sort of the same feeling at Brewer's Bay Beach that you get at a place that's REAL -- really a beautiful NATURAL beach ....

Looks like you're on Carnival ... which does offer our ALL TIME FAVORITE excursion in Tortola: "Virgin Island Sailaway"!
Lulu, Could you expand on this excursion?? We are on Carnival and will be in Tortola from 8 to 6. They have this excursion listed as from 8:30 to 12:30. We would then still have time to catch a taxi to Brewers Bay or Cane Garden Bay for a few hours after or do some sight seeing on our own.
Does this sound like a good plan? Is there anywhere to grab something to eat at the beach on that excursion?
Thanks, I am very patient and Lulu always provides good info and answers!

Lynn, so very sorry for no reply. I was away for about two weeks when you posted this ... and I didn't see it when I returned ....
Just in case you're still interested, I'll reply now on the post with your question....

As discussed, very sorry for the tardy reply.
For certain I wouldn't go to Brewer's Bay unless I were going for the day! Maybe, would consider going to Cane Garden Bay Beach since you have a 6 o'clock departure ....
Both Brewers' Bay Beach and Cane Garden Bay Beach have a place to get the "grab food" sort of thing. (The only thing we've ever done at either is drink.)
Hope this still helps a bit....
