    prepaid tips

Ive prepaid my tips with the travel agent when i booked my criuse,.
Will the staff on board know this, or will they still expect me to tip?
If they dont know then i may feel a bit awkward.

    Hi!

The crew don't get their tips until the end of the cruise, whether you prepaid them or not, so it shouldn't be a bother to them.

Whether you tip them extra is 100% up to you.

It's been many years since I paid tips in cash, it's all done via your onboard account these days. Hi, I am not sure if the staff know if you paid the tips or not, but you know you did so there nothing to feel awkward about

Depending on your cruise line, normally your cabin steward will leave envelopes on your bed the last day of your cruise so you can put money in them for the people who have served you regularly (cabin steward, waiter, assistant waiter, head waiter). If you have pre-paid your grautities, then they will also leave coupons showing the gratuities have been paid and you put those in the envelopes so you have something to hand to the staff when you shake their hand and thank them for their service. As was mentioned, you can put extra money in there if you want, but it's not required.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Waterlogged,

I'm not sure which cruise line you are travelling with just as an FYI the gratuities will normally only include your cabin steward, and waiters and waitresses in the formal dining room and casual dining areas. If you are purchasing drinks at the bar I know with Carnival they charge an automatic grautity for each drink so there is no need to tip any extra, but if you partake in specialty dining then this will not be included in your prepaid grautities so there will be an expectation to tip in these areas, unless of course the service was not up to standard!

The spa, golf pro etc and other additional activities are also not included and at your discretion.

    Have a fantastic time!

The tips on Celebrity are taken out of your account regardless if you prepay or not.
I wouldn't prepay as then the cruise line has your money sooner.
If you care to tip extra that's up to you. You should leave a tip for room servicve as that is not covered by prepaying tips. I usually leave a dollar or 2 per person on room service depending on the size of the order.
The staff will know that the tips have been taken care of and you need not worry.
