Thanks for the helpful information and taking the time to read my post and respond.

The last time that I had any contact with a butler - at least so far as I know - was when I was about a year old! 'Way back in the mid-1930s, my parents had both a maid and a butler! When they moved from the mid-west to Boston and took the servants with them, the servants quickly found better employment and our family never had servants, again! So sad having to gow up so deprived!
