    celebrity tipping

So many tipping questions!!! I will be staying in a Century Suite on the Celebrity Century on March 25th.

We did the pre pay gratuities and beverage pkg. My question is...when we order a cocktail do we tip even though gratuities are included in the cost of the beverage pkg-which btw is very expensive. what about room service? Butler service...do I tip the butler everytime we use his/her service?

Im so used to tipping whenever someone comes to my door or provides a service. As a first timer the "tipping on the last day" is strange to me.

They won't expect you to tip since the tip has already been paid. If you find a bar server or bartender that you particularly like, a little extra wouldn't hurt, though.

Room service is NOT included in the regular tipping amount. Depending on how large an order you have, a dollar or two is always welcomed.

Butler IS already included in your daily tips that will be put on your sea pass bill.

This is from the Celebrity web site and explains who and how much.

    Gratuities
For your convenience, we will automatically add gratuities for your restaurant and stateroom services to your onboard Seapass account on a daily basis in the following amounts, which may be adjusted at your discretion:
$11.50 per person per day for guests in staterooms
$12.00 per person per day for guests in Concierge Class and AquaClass staterooms
$15.00 per person per :day for guests in Suits.

These service gratuities are based on the following recommended amounts:

    Here is the breakdown:
    Restaurant Service*Per Person Per Day
    Waiter$3.65
    Assistant Waiter$2.10
    Dining Room Management$1.00

    Stateroom Service*Per Person Per Day
    Butler (Suites Only)$3.50
    Stateroom Service $3.50
($4.00 for Concierge Class and AquaClass staterooms)

    Pockets

There were a couple of occasions on our cruise last year when I wished we had carried cash with us for above and beyond servers in the dining rooms. ( We were not in Traditional dining) I will make it a point to be prepared next time.

Hi, I worked for Celebrity (the summit). And although you have paid your tips up front, it may be a good idea to give the occasional dollar to ensure the service stays up to scratch, it just makes sure the staff stay on their toes, i think. (speaking as an ex celebrity casino dealer).

Hi tjones and welcome to CLF. I usually tip most of the bartenders with every order. I usually frequent the same few bars on each ship over and over and I seem to get superior service. It sounds like you have a great cruise coming up soon. Make sure and post a review after you return. We'll all be interested.

We were on the Century last month in a concierge class cabin. It was phenomenal but you will love the suite even more.

(And be sure to say hello to Lisa, the cruise director, from the Berkowitz couple. We were the ones celebrating our 25th anniversary on the ship the last week in December)

thanks for the welcome. I hope i can answer some questions, although it was usually passengers who let me know what was going on. Staff are often the last to know anything lol.
