First time crusier asking for help with tipping

I am a first time crusier. My parents and i are going to the lengend of the seas asian trip together.

I had my reservation booked online with all the tax port charges and grauities added in. When we were picking on the dining time. There's something called my dining time and by using that we will have a 40 something grauities added in.

I was wondering is it the grauities i has in my total amount or cos' i am using my dining time its an extra amount??

Thank you allllll for the help.

First of all I never ever recommend booking your cruise online. You never know who you're dealing with and it's usually diffiicult getting ahold of them if you have any questions. And if you do get ahold of them, you're usually talking to someone who's never even been on a cruise.

But to answer your question; it depends on which cruise line you're booking with. Normally, when you select "My Time" or "Anytime' dining, they will pre-charge you the gratuities for the cruise. This can range from $10 per person per day to $12 per person per day for the mass-market cruise lines.

If you do not choose the anytime dining, then you can pay your gratuities in a couple of different ways; you can have them pre-paid as a part of your cruise, you can have them charged to your onboard account, or you can pay them yourself via cash.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for your advice pete. I am most appreicated.

I book thru rci web site and they have local travel agent in hong kong.
By booking online i can see where am i staying for all 5 nights.

because there are 2 gaurities charges for now as i seen so i am quite confused with them. Because dinner time at 6 are all full which we do not prefer and 830 is too late.

We love the legend ship - am sure you will have a great cruise, sounds like the best thing to do is to call/email whoever you booked with and sort it out that way. I take it that you have had monies taken out of your account for two lots of gratuities??

    old cruser

I called today however they said they can't "open" my reservation until the email has been forwarded to them.
I guess i will have to wait for them to call and confirm with me.....

One part of the gratuities is currently included in the total charge. The other one is with the dinner time thingy....
