    Dollars or Euros?

I am sure this subject has been discussed before but my cruise is almost here and I don't have time to research all the posts. We are cruising the Med. and all but one of our ports are in the European Union and have made the Euro their currency.

The ships currency is USDollars (very weak just now). I am thinking about tipping in Euros. Please let me know what you think and thanks in advance for your help. Lee

I doubt very much the staff will say no to Euros but the US$$ is king.
Most of the staff send money home to their families in US$ as their onboard accounts and sallaries are in that currency. Also, the onboard currency for the crew is the US$.
You might not have thought about this but ship (US$$) and shore (Euros) are to seperate universes.
I would strongly sugggest to tip them in US Dollars.

I agree with Lars, USD are the easiest for the crew to handle. There may be a charge to convert that would make Euros less convenient for the crew.

Now I understand. I don't want the crew to have to pay a conversion fee. Thanks for the last minute help and I am about to post my last question. Lee
