Originally on HAL the bar tender who took the order got the entire 15% gratuity.
But about a year ago new negotiations were set up where the bar tender gets a certain percentage and the rest of the gratuity is placed in a pool and split among all the staff working along side the bar tender. I haven't found out the percetanges.

So does that mean the person who actually brings it to our cabin gets nothing?
Nothing ... except what we tip extra ....

Look at it this way... tipping is a way of saying that you appreciate a service rendered. In this istuation, the bar provided the service of mixing the drink, which has a gratuity built-in for THAT service... THEN you have someone providing the service of delivering that drink to your stateroom.
Two services rendered... one prepaid gratuity... If you appreciate the service of having the drink delivered, then by all means, tip for that service as well!

That's the way we have always thought of it: Extra tip for the delivery service.
Thing is .... makes we wonder about when we order drinks while sitting around the main pool area. Those drinks are "delivered" to us and we don't add anything extra to the 15%.

Lulu, my understanding is that the bartenders and bar waitstaff split the tips and I don't tip extra when I'm sitting at the pool unless we're in a large group and I missed the drink order and now have the person running back to the bar for my one drink.
I've always ran down to the closest bar and never had alcoholic beverages delivered to my cabin. I didn't even know you could order them without room service food
