    room service tips

I am just beginning to research for a Holland American Alaskan cruise to Alaska next summer.
Can someone please tell me what to tip if we have room service delivered? Our last cruise was with Disney and the full menu was not available by RS. Only snacks. The normal tip for that (according to their boards) was $2-3. Thanks in advance.

    Good Question!

On Holland America we do the same as you did on Disney.

For full meals (breakfast/lunch) we did $3 - $5 .... sort of depended on what we ordered. (Normally, $3 ... and they always seemed happy and thanked us like they ment it .... )

I agree with Lulu. If it's just coffee, $2, but meals at least $ 3 or more. It is so worth it.

I agree with Hanna and LuLu - $2 if it's just coffee, which we do every morning. Or $3-$5 if it's more of a meal depending on what we order.

And keep in mind that just because it's not on the room service menu, it doesn't mean you still can't order it. We've asked for alot of things that aren't on the menu and get them.

And you will love Holland America to Alaska!! They have the biggest presence there and they know how to do it right. We did HAL last year and spent 2 weeks in Alaska and the Yukon - it was absolutely wonderful!

    In Cabin Breakfast Menu

If you have your breakfast delivered after the dining room opens, then you can write in anything you want (and most times you will get it) -- like Eggs Benedict. Sea days the dining room opens at 8:30 and on port days the time is 8. For Alaska -- on most ships the dining room opens 1/2 hour earlier.
