    It is amazing how little they make, isn't it?

    I have not heard about their actual salary but my impression is that it is below (far below) US minimum wage. Of course, they get free room and board with that but still.......

    By your math the whole crew would each get $182.00. My post stated much fewer people share in the $12 service charge. How did you come up with your NEW $200 number?

    How does that salary compare to what they'd be making in the Philipines, or whatever their native country is? This might be huge money for them.

    Very good point. I have heard from various people that it is a large salary despite being away from family and friends and having large work loads. Don't have specifics and what I do have is more hearsay than anything else, but the ships do not seem to have problems recruiting people. And a lot of them return for more than one contract.
