    Questions about tipping

I've read about the tipping procedures and it wasn't that clear to me after reading it on a few cruise booklets. The ones I've seen say tip such-and-such % to the various crew members. How do you that? Do they line up with their hands out or what?
And how do you keep track of who and how much?
    One more question...

Did I read the booklets wrong and instead you can tip as you go for service?

Out of all the things about cruises I've read, this is the one issue that isn't clear to me.

Hi Wiley!! When you check in at the pier, you will give them a credit card that will cover any charges on the ship!! Liquor, shopping, etc!! The tipping for for all the tipped staff, comes out to $10 per day pp. The easiest way to do it, is to gave the tips automatically deducted from your credit card at the end of the week!! If you feel that a member of the staff gave yoy excellent servise above and beyond what you excepted, it is nice to give a liitle extra!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

And in addition to what Sue said, if you feel you didn't get the service expected you can visit the help desk and tell them you want to decrease your tip amount. I don't think this would happen, and I have never had to or wanted to myself.

What cruise line are you thinking about taking? Some do it the old fashioned way and you tip at the end of the cruise.........RC for example is the old fashioned way and your option is to go to the purser's desk and put them on........not take them off.........

Once you decide which line you are cruising we can help you specifically.

Actually Sue.........I guess I'm old fashioned............I think service is better when you pay at the end..........now it may have just been the Caribbean Princess.......but we noticed a drop off in the dinning room.........of course, that might have been PC as well........back to tradtional for us.

The thing I liked about RC, in addition to it being your option to have tips deducted, was they delivered pre-marked envelopes and vouchers that resembled checks to your room on the last day. All you had to do was match the voucher and the envelope and hand them out.. neat idea
