We have never left less then the recommended amount. This past cruise, everyone received a little extra. We also would add extra to some of the bar tabs, and we had them running to serve our drinks whenever we returned the entire cruise. For dinner once we asked for something, it was always there when we returned the next night.

Julie I agree about auto tips...........my only experience with them so far was on the Caribbean Princess and the overall service ranked in the lower third of all our cruises to date. I do plan to cruise princess again and will have them removed, although I do understand that hurts your cabin steward under their system. We also will NEVER do personal choice dining again.........

Many of the things you mentioned on your Radisson cruise were very nice service provided.......but being Radisson I would expect that........you really are paying for that by sailing Radisson......maybe someday us Mass Market cruisers can experience that type of service.........we can always hope

Nothing is, I have always met friendly crew, always get extras, Always pay extra!! I get to be pampered for an entire week, once a year!! They do make my cruise special, and make me feel special once a year!! I want them to know that they did it, and I was very happy!!!

We just got off of a cruise and tipped more because of several reasons:
    1) Crew were always personable and friendly
    2) Dining staff was very quick
    3) Room steward worked with us to accomodate our electric blankets
    4) Room steward was so easy going and friendly that it made the cruise that much more wonderful.
    5) And she gave us extra compass pages so my mom could destroy hers
