Conquest didn't arrive in Galveston until 11:00 - 11:30 today. Finally departed this evening just after 8:00PM. I'm sure there will be many unhappy cruisers who missed flights & will be blaming Carnival & talking about how bad the port of Galveston is. Not at all the fault of either one.

Extremely heavy fog caused the late arrival.

It's always disappointing when things like this happen, but they do. You just have to go with it. The Mariner was late getting into port on the front of our last cruise. We just hung out at the bar at the hotel and drank until the pier was clear! Got on just in time for the muster drill.

Is this where travel insurance would come into play? Isn't there a provision for trip interruption?

Absolutely. Trip Insurance should pay for any rebooking fees for flights or hotels & other expenses if overnight stay was involved.

Also, I've found when things go wrong people really do try to work with you. After saying that, I will also state that I always buy trip insurance even tho we've never needed to use it

I've never had to use my insurance either but it's nice to know it's there if I do.
