Well... where I come from, "Tend to your own knittin" (no "g") is pretty common... but we best be keerful of pokin' fun at others phrases and accents... don't wunt no-uns throwin' no conniption fits, now do we?

One of the most fun times I have had was going to Las Vegas and stricking up a conversation with the folks around us in the buffet line (we do chat with strangers when standing in line in Texas, passes the time) by saying in my best Texas drawl "Wher y'all frooom". People from several unnamed eastern states would look at me and wonder if I was really crazy and a threat to their safety or if I really was just being a friendly crazy person. DH and I enjoyed watching the reactions.

Texans do love to talk! Several times on cruises we've been surrounded by people from all over the world. I'll step way to go to the ladies room and come back just to find my DH has filled them in on his entire life story and the history of Texas by the time I get back!!
