Post Sorry to say Leverock's is gone

They sold out to a developer who is building yet more condo's on the site.

Peppin's is also a Spanish Restaurant in St Pete - they are just as good (better in my IMO) than Columbia. However, they have a piano bar - rather than the Flamingo show.

Red Mesa is an upscale Mexican cuisine restaurant in St Pete.

Of course, we can't forget Tarpon Springs - there are many Greek Restaurants and bakeries in this small sponge dock's town.
Pappas Restaurant which had been there for upteen year's is now closed - the family had sold out and the new owner's couldn't make a go of it. Hellas is very good as is Paul's Shirmp House and Dodcanese (sp?) Bakery.

By the Way the Pappas family has started another local chain of eateries called Pappas - there are several in the area - all have wonderful Greek food.

Island Way Grill on Island Way Estates between downtown Clearwater and Clearwater Beach is wonderful.

Castaway's on the Courtney/Campbell Causeway between Tampa and Clearwater is very nice - great view's of the bay.
Oyster Catcher's is also located in the Hyatt in this same area.

I know I'll think of some more local places that out of towner's may enjoy.

Thanks for the suggestions. Booked hotel on Priceline and we will be staying in Tampa at the Brandon Fairfield Marriott. It is near routes 75 & 60. Have no idea where it is. Hope it won't be too far from everything. We wil be renting a car so we will not have a problem getting all over. Staying two nights pre-cruise.

Any other information you can share about Tampa will be appreciated.

Lightbulb Hmmm

Ah, you're staying over in Brandon. You are further East and south than what I was thinking. You'll be a way's from the port, however, as you say you'll have a car. Brandon is mostly new places - I'm not familiar with that area at all. You won't be very far from the outlet mall in Ellenton - at least I don't think you will. There are some very nice stores down there.
I can't help you with restaurant's out in Brandon though - sorry.
