I cruised on her last Jan and at that time they said she would be going away for good. I cruised her 3 times and really liked that ship and the size of it. Too bad she's gone.

From what I have found out Princess is just sending the ship to Australia. It's not leaving to go to P&O. She'll still sail under the Princess name. The Princess website has her available for booking until Apr 2009.

That is correct, Heather. Right now, it's on it's way to Port Chalmers, New Zealand.
This is good to know. The Sun was listed as having Australia cruises in June 2008, but I guess that's changed. (yes, I know that's winter there; hubby was thinking it wouldn't be as hot at that time of year and a good time to go).

It gets a bit confusing here in Australia as Princess are operating both Sun Princess and Dawn Princess out of Australia and P&O are operating the Pacific Sun and the Pacific Dawn (formerly the Regal Princess). It shows how popular cruising has become in Australia over the past few years. I've caught the bug and have booked my first cruise on the Diamond Princess next year...and i can't wait!!!!!

That's right, that's the reason Royal Caribbean jumped into the fray also this year, sending the Rhapsody Of The Seas Down Under.
Looking at the searchlight again on the princess website. The Sun's Asia cruise in late June 2008 is really just an Australian cruise. I was getting confused by the "Asia" part before. It's still scheduled for that cruise as far as I can see so maybe it's rejoining Princess by then. No cruises listed past April 2009 though.
