Sun Princess

If you have sailed on the Sun Princess and have any comments or info that would be helpful I would appreciate that. Thanks

Sun Princess

Was on last Oct and really enjoyed it. We only get inside cabins so if your looking at anything else can't help but the inside cabins was very nice. In fact I like it much better tan the cabins on the Grand class, much nicer closet.

The Sun is easy to get around and of course beautiful.

Plus the ports visited were great.

If you can grab a Mini Suite, I think it's one of the best deals on the sea- two small rooms, unlike Mini Suites on other classes of Princess Ships, which are one big room. You can pull the curtain between the two, and one person can sleep, while the other stays up to read. Also nice if you want to have someone in for a drink. And the bathrooms are amazing! Full shower, jacuzzi tub, separate little room for the loo and sink, too.

Also, if you happen to be travelling with others, and have cabins next to each other with verandahs, the partitions fold away, so you can have one big balcony, at least on the uppper decks!

We did the anytime dining- Personal Choice, but I think I'd prefer traditional late seating- we never got a chance to know our wait staff, and it was a bother having to try to get consensus with our group about the time for dinner, and then try to get a reservation...

Disco was really smokey when we were on. We ended up dancing at another bar- can't remember the name, but forward and down a few decks- very ship oriented decor. It was fun.

That's about it. Hope, if you go, you have a great time.

I will be going on my 3rd cruise on the Sun in Jan 2007. Had an outside room with 4 gals and it worked great. Last Dec had a balcony with hubby, great also. Have an obstructed view room booked for Jan, never had one of those on any ship before. Hope I like it as well.
A great ship, easy to get around on. Very clean and doesn't show her age at all. Decorated beautifully with lots of color and shinny brass.
Lovely dining room with great food. We have always done traditional early seating, works for us.
Love the pool deck. Sometimes you will find some saving loungers. If I can't find an empty one I will watch for 1/2 hour and if no one comes back I will remove their stuff and claim it as mine. I don't expect the deck staff to police it all. You aren't supposed to save loungers. Funny thing, no one has ever returned to claim their displaced stuff.
I have also been on 2 of her sister ships and loved them all!
Enjoy the Sun Princess!!!

I was on the Sun Princess in December jusst loved it. The crew was very nice and did a good job. My husband and booked the dolphin encounter at isle de magareta. It was one that I will never forget. They kept feeding the dolphin after we were in the water and one of them jumped up to get the food and got a man on his back. He had teeth marks all over and his wife was hit by the tail of the dolphine and was out cold face down in the water. As one swam by me they thought my foot was food and I had a couple of bites on my foot. The cruise line was very good and sent my medical bill to the tour company. They looked into the incident because they said if there was a problem they did not want to use them again. They also refunded the money we spent for the encounter. This shows the Princess lines care about their passengers
