Thread: First cruise on the Sun Princess 12/9/09

The other half and I are booked on the Sun Princess leaving Sydney on the 12/9/09

We are only doing the first half, 18 nights but our friends are doing the complete round trip

We sail to Hawaii via The Cook Islands and Tahiti and would love to make contact with anyone else sailing on this trip

2 months ago some friends and I travelled on the Carnival Glory to the Caribbean but after the size of that boat, I am expecting the Sun Princess to be smaller which I will look forward to as the Glory was just huge

I have read some really positive comments and am really looking forward to it ..

When you say "on the 12/9/09" are you meaning the 12th of September? Sometimes the month and day get confused because we Americans are accustomed to the month being first and the day of the month second.....while others put the day first.

Hey Abbey your the first we have found that are on the same cruise, we are going to do the 35 days. We are looking forawrd to the trip as it's our first ever cruise. Hope to see you on board - Andrew & Karen

We are also on the same cruise as you all are. Our second South Pacific cruise. Like to know wether others are doing ship excursions & which ones or independant sightseeing?

sorry for not replying sooner but I haven't been able to log in and after umpteen attempts, decided to register again with a different email address

Very annoying .. kept wanting me to spell "cruise" but when I spelt it, it said it was wrong.. I guess I am pretty dumb and missing something

Andrew & Karen .. sorry its taken me so long from when you replied.. yes I am really looking forward to the cruise, not sure about the husband, he has only done 1 cruise for 2 nights from Melbourne to Sydney and was sick the whole time (but he did manage to make all the meals) I am so hoping it wont be rough like it is coming out of Melbourne

Keith & Viv .. the friends we are travelling with are from your part of the world.. maybe you know them as Trish's brother was coming on the cruise with friends but now he isn't, you wouldn't be the friends would you?

Anyway it would be lovely to catch up on the cruise, especially as we have 4 days before we see dry land ... when I went on the Caribbean cruise, some people had put a sign on their door that they were contributors to cruise forum's and invited people to make contact

We aren't sure what to do about excursions .. I have been posting on Trip Advisor and they recommend for Tahiti to go with the ship excursions as their aren't many taxis for rental .. we had thought of either hiring a car or a local tour guide but of course the worry of missing the ship is always in the back of your mind

Some of the excursions are already waitlisted

Hello to everyone. We are joining the cruise in Honolulu. We will be flying out of Sydney on the 26th so we are spending a few day's in Honolulu pre cruise. There is going to be a meet & greet at the Topsiders Bar on board on the 29th at 10.30pm if any-one would like to come.
