Thumbs up just got off the Star Princess

well its been great and as all good things they come to a end too fast.

had a wonderful time on the ship. first two days were a bit rocky but smooth sailings from then on.

Our cabin which was E731 was awsome.. Our steward was fabulous we had chocolates on the pillows every night.. DH didnt realize it till he went to bed with one stuck to his shiney head..

didnt realize they folded your dirty clothes if they got left on the bed how embarrassing for hubby and his undies..

the crew went above and beyond for our enjoyment... for a first time cruiser i cried when i left the ship.. (had nothing to do with going back to work either hahaha)

cozumel was devastating to see.. i can not say from experiance but a fellow cruiser was in tears saying how theywere just there on honeymoon a year ago and well i shall say no more.. was very sad to say..

Food lots of it and most of the time excellent. depending on what you order. I ordered filet mignon and got just that .. was fabualous next night ordered the same thing but got lil hockey pucks in gravy... yukk..

lobster nite was great server kept bringing more lobster to the table didnt realize it was all you could eat..DH ate a whole ship load of it.

As for drinks i drank mostly strawberry D's the best.. also mai tai''s .. didnt realize it would send me to bed early not so many next time..

As for company met some wonderful people and met some down right Rude ones
i understand they are traveling in groups but to be rude to the ones who are not well Im sure glad I steered away from them the whole cruise.

Kids in the adult only pools where is the adult only part ???

    Nothing is perfect ..

Went on the country side tour in montego bay.. have to say it was the best of all ... great food served at lunch and Pina coladas and jb rum yum...

By the end of the cruise we defentily were Tipped out.. one bus driver who drove us a short distance id say a five min ride tops asked for a dollar from everyone.. ??? He drove us from the ship to the dock area where we had to meet for our tours. If we had the spot on the dock area that princess usually gets we wouldnt have needed a ride and personally if we were not strapped for time a walk would have been nice.

Like I say there is always somthing you dislike about a trip and the tipping was getting outrageous..we are good tippers and we excell in giving as for what we recieve..

embarking and disembarking went great.. never waited long last on the ship... first offf..

tendering was another story first two ports were tendered cozumel and caymens.. long

    lines waiting and pushing people..

One other thing i felt was sad was a mother and infant .. child definitly didnt want to be in the dining room.. was crying... alot of people were upset.. but me as a mother was just glad it was not my child.. thats about it for now looking for another cruise got the itch..... Diane

Diane .... Thanks for the review! Glad you had a good cruise!

Oh, it just makes me feel so sad about Cozumel! We have so many good memories of the fun we had there. What did you do in Cozumel?

    Thanks again!

Love the Star and the Grand!

Diane--So glad your first cruise was a success. Now we know you'll be hooked! Our first cruise was on a sister ship to the Star, the Grand Princess, and we fell in love with it. I just love the ship design, particularly the forward sunken pool near the spa. Great quiet place to luxuriate. The "Grand Class" ships work for me, though I know others like smaller ones. We were on the Star this past Christmas and had a terrific holiday cruise. So sorry to hear about Cozumel but I feared the worst. Anyway, welcome back to the real world and thanks for taking the time to write up your experience.

    Calm seas!

Our first Princess ship was the Star. We really like the big ships. Glad you enjoyed your cruise.

    Hi "CC"

Our favorite cruise line is princess. Several years ago we did the alaska cruise on The Star.
2 years ago we did the Tahiti cruise on Princess-Tahitian Princess. This was a smaller ship (700-800 passengers) and we truly enjoyed its size. We enjoyed the Star also, but I'm not big on the new mega-ships.
We are going to try Celebrity Cruise line this year on the Baltic cruise.

P.S. We are Northridge residents also.

    Keep Cruisin
