    Star Princess Specialty Restaurants

Sue, I hope I can impose on you to talk about your favorite ship. As I've mentioned, we'll be sailing just before you on 9/2. What is your take on the specialty restaurants, Sabatini's Trattoria and the Painted Desert? Do you recommend either one or both?

    THanks, Joel

Absolutely!! The painted desert is no more!! It is the steakhouse now!! It is worth the $15 pp charge, The steak is to die for!! And the service is wonderful. The Sabbatini is an expierience to try. $20 pp, It has tons of food but not large amounts of each. You choose one entree that is the "meal", but all the others are appitizers, several different ones on a plate, slice of pizza, salads, soup, desserts, GO HUNGRY. The restaurant is all italian decorations. Beautiful, and elegant. The waiters are italian, and the service is impecable!! The captain of the Star was promoted to Commodor of the entire Princess fleet last year just before our cruise. He is still at the helm, and will be there when I sail too!! You will love her!!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Thanks Sue. Going hungry won't be a problem for us. In fact, I truely believe the weight I'm working on loosing now was from our cruise last November. We did the steak house on the NCL Dawn and feel it was the best meal of the cruise. I don't mind paying the charge when the service and food are top notch. I'm worried about the Italian fare though. We're doing the Atkins routine and pasta just doesn't work to well. Ah heck! Let's go for it. Where's my bib, my fork my spoon?? Let me at that angel hair pasta! Maybe some pizza too. It's been 2 months without meat balls and I'm getting ugly now.

Oh, sorry. I got a little carried away.:o

Actually, our voyage is 10 days! You're right Sue; the pace is becoming quicker everyday. This past Friday we went for our marriage license. Had to laugh, the clerk asked if we were related no closer than 2nd cousins! I had this evil look come upon me that Di could see. "Don't even think about joking".

Di's been busy addressing invitations, while I'm providing the navigational maps for the out-of-towners. Not to mention the remodeling of the downstairs. So it has been and will continue to be a bit on the hectic side. Less than 7 weeks to go.

    Congratulations, Martij6

I wish you many years of happiness, fun and good health! You picked the right ship for your honeymoon. Sue has given you much helpful info, and I'll share our experience also. We loved our cruise on the Star. The Steak House is very good, but go hungry. We have tried Sabatini's twice and we really don't care for it. However, it is worth the $20 for the experience at least once. Both restaurants serve lots of food. Have a great time!
