Heather, these are amazing pictures. The melted TV was very weird.
From the side photos, it almost looked like there were 3 separate blazes, judging from the marks on the glass windows above the balconies. Glad I don't have to investigate.
And on page 3, the last few pictures look like they are from places in Romania. There are captions in the corners of those photos.

These photos are so sad. I was on the Star last summer and my cabin was on the Aloha deck. She really was a beautiful ship and I'm so sorry this happened. It looks like it will take quite a while to repair all this damage.

If nothing else, those pictures indicate what a marvellous job the crew did to contain and put out the fire. The heat must have been tremendous to do the kind of damage that we see in some areas. It's a miracle there weren't more deaths and injuries. They could easily have lost the whole ship.
I agree with you. The crew did a fabulous job of both saving the ship and the lives of the passengers. This was a horrific fire and could have killed many people. It truly is a miracle that only one life was lost.

These photos are horrifying.
Truly amazing there were not more casualties. Says a lot for the crew of the Star.
Also amazing will be if the Star sails again per the announced schedule, just barely more than four weeks from now.
Thanks Heather!!I was always so impressed with the crew!! They just always seemed so calm and in control. It took the entire crew on this ship, as well as the fantastic fire crew to save all these lives. They showed up in hallways and stairways and cabins in the thick smoke to lead passengers to safety, and very quicky too. This fire raged and they had to get passengers out of the fire fast. That was acrid smoke!! They were trained well and went right into action!! Kudos!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
Most people walk into and out of your life . . . but FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart
Thank you for sharing the link to these photographs, Heather.
If the ship is repaired and ready to sail again in four weeks, that will be quite remarkable. I imagine the damaged sections will have to be cut away and replaced, and then all the finish work.
I'm still curious to know what happened with the fire sprinklers.
