Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
It is indeed sad that these displaced cruisers wont have the dream they dreamt but I must applaud Princess in offering full refunds and discounts they did all they could do under the circumstances. jmho![]()
Absolutely right, Joey. Not only what they offered but the fact that they have been pretty quick in the offering and in getting the word out on cancellations.Originally Posted by JoeyandDavid
I remember, with frustration, how miserably slow NCL was after the Norway tragedy. Realizing the depth of the tragedy, they still took an inordinate amount of time to release the obvious info. The Norway was not going to sail for a long, long time, if ever. And if ever became the case.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "My Country", for an amount of "up to, and including my life." That is honor and courage.
Extremely disappointing especially for first time cruisers.
TA's have been notified and hopefully they have room on another ship!!!![]()

Sue I heard yesterday all Princess ships through April were now booked solid as a result of this...........haven't confirmed this, but it makes sense I guess.
This was inevitable...........I'm surprised they think they can get it ready by mid May........that is only 7 weeks or so from now.
I'm not surprised either!!, The time taken will depend on how extensive they want the repairs to be before sailing!!!! They can sail, and block off the damaged cabins, and balconies.

Does anyone know how many cabins have to be replaced and howmany just need cleaned and new fixtures?depending on what the ship needs to be recommisioned,Originally Posted by isujim
Seven weeks in drydock terms is good piece of time.. isnt it?
The thing I want to know is...is there a generic cabin units or kits in the ship building industry.??..I have NO idea of course .. I would think that if it would be possible to have a generic layout and then u custumize wall paper and etc to client specs.
Seems like its possible to have it back on line before 7 weeks
Wonder if a ship's insurance covers lose revenue in this type case? I take for granted their insurance on the ship will cover the cost of repairs, but I wonder if since this was an accident if they are able to recoup lost revenue from cancelled cruises. That many cruises and that many passengers is a heck of a lot of money to be lost.
