Question Who has sailed on STAR Princess?

What a horrible thing to have happened! How awful for the heart attack victim and his family ... not to mention the trama to others!

As bad as it is ... somehow, it seems even worst when it's a ship you've sailed and loved!

Just wondering who else has ever sailed on STAR Princess?

Know jeffs, Pungo3, and Hep Hysteria have. We were on STAR with our girls for one of our best cruises ever for New Year's (1990). Anyone else?

    So SAD!!!!

I have, three times!! She is my favorite, had our vows renewed on her, and the Captain is the Commodor of the Princess Fleet!! I am sick over it!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Oh, Sue... you really have a connection.

And for her captain to be the fleet commodore... What a blow - just another sad piece of a tragic picture.

I sailed on the Star Oct 7, 2005 with DD, SIL and 3 grandkids. We all loved the ship and the kids explored everywhere.

I do not feel that any ship needs to be smoke free as my DH smokes but not in our house or cabin or hotel room or car. So as long as there is somewhere outside for the smokers to go then that is ok, as I would lose my favorite traveling companion if he could not smoke at all. Yes he knows it is bad for him and he is trying to stop even his Dr. is requesting him to stop but after 45 yrs or so of smoking it is very hard. He has cut down and does plan on quiting soon, just not yet.

Yes, I, LepHysteria have sailed on the lovely star princess.... but you can call me Jen

Our honeymoon cabin was B258. I think that it was just a handful of cabins from being affected

I have sailed on the Star a few times. It saddens me to see what has happened to this beautiful ship and to read of the tragic news of loss of life.
Commodore Ditel left the ship earlier this year and is now in retirement. His official retirement will be in June and ceremonies are planned in conjunction with the new Crown Princess. I am sure he is deeply distrubed at what has happened to the Star. He was very proud of his ship and staff.
If any of you saw a thread about how to get an invitation to dine with a Captain, I wrote of a Captain dining at my table. This was the ship and the Commodore (at the time Captain) was the surprise guest.
