    Fire on the Star Princess

Here is the Princess link for information on today's fire aboard the Star Princess. Hopefully, all passengers and crew are okay. They'll be in my prayers.

    Oh no!!!! I'm praying!!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Unfortunately there has been one death so far and some injured. The fire started in a cabin and spread to adjacent cabins around 3:10 this morning, a time when the vast majority are sleeping. It has been put out. The death is as a result of cardiac arrest(heart attack), and the injured have suffered smoke inhalation. The ship is now in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Hope one of our members onboard is alright. This has been some week for cruises.

Terrible, the second time in a matter of hours.

I feel for the people who were victims of this fire.

I have no idea how this started but it sure is a reminder of how careful we need to be.

And also how important those muster drills really are.

My prayers go out to those affected. What a horrible tradegy.

On our last cruise we were awakened to the sound of the firealarm at 2:45 one morning. We hopped out of bed to the sounds of the fire alarm and heavy boots of firefighters running down our hall, we dressed quickly in warm clothes preparing to muster if necessary. Thank God it was a false alarm in the ships incinerator, but for those few minutes it was quite surreal.

Marti- You are so right. After a few cruises you take the muster for granted. Let me tell you after the fire alarm last cruise and now this I will be more careful to actually make note of my muster station, etc.
