you are doing good with your planning Ony one port to go
You are only 2 months from sailing so you should start to see price reductions soon IF the cabins are not selling!! the prices start to go down and you will get a good deal
Something I havnt thought about is with new job etc maybe November isnt a good month for taking vacation????It is running up to the Christmas season/early in the Christmas season Must find out soon!!
From what I have seen from the Princess prices this year is that they dont go down much in price until last minute and then its only inside cabins and maybe outside cabins. Balconies etc are much more priced here then in the US.
I will have to look for some "house blah blah blah " books The plan for the 1st floor was to move the bathroom and the kitchen to a new location but that will mean to move all kinds of pipes and that smells like lots of $$$$ already. I have to think about something else do do
At this point it is a possibility that the cruise could go down for the category I'm booked in as the GS's are not moving as well as other categories. Believe me, if it does go down, you'll hear about it!
I was thinking of moving us to the other side of the ship the other night I came across some info that port side of the ship would be the docked side more frequently. I picked starboard thinking that would be used since our itinerary was going in that particular direction and since smoking was on the starboard side of the ship on the deck above, I thought I may not bother as many non-smokers when I was out on the balcony. At this point I may just stay where we are
Good point about October/November maybe not being a good month to take vacation now that you have that job. I'm glad we didn't book yet! Princess' pricing gives me heart palpitations every time I look at it for this sailing
The Grand's (Nov 6, 2009) pricing hasn't been that bad since the first time I looked at it for a balcony. I think that was around, what April or May? When we were first talking about it a balcony was $1899; which I could handle. As I mentioned before, if I was booked already on Grand, or looking to book it now, I'd be upgrading to that mini-suite for $2299!

Lars, if you have to pay someone to move those pipes, you are correct, that's alot of $$$$!
What is under the kitchen and bathroom? Is there a basement? Or is there a crawl space area? Also, what's on top of those areas? Is there a bathroom upstairs that has pipes going to it...that will impact how difficult the job will be and whether everything can be moved around. It's tough for me without seeing it and without knowing Norway's plumbing codes (if they have such things?) what you can and can't do. Here in our City we have codes that make it so that you need to vent pipes if they're a certain distance away from the main sewer (waste) pipes and whatnot. Also electric outlets/light switches have certain specifications to be so many feet away from water or needing ground fault interrupting circuit breakers or receptacles (thinking bathroom and kitchen) and so many inches from the floor. Lots of codes here!
Mike always says, "anything is possible to do" but that's provided you're willing the pay the money or do the work involved to do it!

I started the job today BUT now they said they cant give me a contract but I have to be a extra. It will be a full time position but no contract. I need a contract because of ....well, many things like new bank histroy and for "A" application for residency. SOoo I called the other Hotel where I got a job also and asked if the position as still available and yes it was. I went and talked to them and I will get a contract with them and I start there on Firday. The contract will be ready to sign on Firday.
I will still work at the Radisson hotel from time to time.....I am going to suggest as a consultant as the place really need a make over when it comes to service etc!
Under the kitchen and the bathroom there is the 1st floor or ground floor with the new 1 bed apartment and utility rooms.
I think it will be way to much to move those two rooms to a different location so what I think we will do is to move a wall a little to make the bathroom bigger and use the space in the kicthen a little bit more smart The small living room will be used as a dining room. There is really no need for a dining area in the kitchen when I can use that little lounge as a dining room I have been up since 515am and I am tired!!! I cant remember last time I had to be awake so early and smiling

It appears that Congrats are in order on your 2 new jobs
It sounds like you've got your space all figured out and that really is the hardest part
I have no idea why I'm watching the Michael Jackson Memorial service that's on TV here...it's a real tear jerker! I don't think there was anyone who performed or spoke that wasn't emotional! UGH! But I can't turn it off

I'm currently using Google Chrome; now Firefox has bit the dust on CLF for me
I agree, his daughter was the one that really got to me too! Some of the other performers not being able to hold back tears was really getting to me....I have no idea why I have to watch things like that
We seriously discussed the Sea Lion swim last night; but logistically I'm worried it could become a nightmare to get to Coral World from the ship that day. Rumor is there is some road construction going on in St.Thomas and I didn't want to find out once we were there that it's still going on! Also, if we could grab a personal taxi then I'd have chanced it; but the taxis are those safari things there that wait until they're full. Too many "what ifs" for my liking!

I must be one of the lucky once. I have no problems with CLF our techs get it fixed very soon and I will continue not having problems
Well, guess who came and said they could offer me a contract after saying they couldt yesterday Yup, Radisson!!! I told them that I already said yes to the other place and will be signing the contract there on Friday. Both places really really want me it seems. Which is very flattering in this economic climate. But as I said before I left work this morning; "we will see who offers me the most $$$$" the one who does wins
I understand you fully regarding the tours. I hate to many "what ifs" also they drive me crazy

I checked the prices (in europe) for the Princess cruise both in 09 and 10 I almost had a heart attack!!!!!!!!!!
the most inexpensive cabin for a late october 09 departure was Euros 789,-pp.
other departures were euros 1600 etc!! these prices was only for inside cabins. I didnt dare to look at the other cabin categories
but as we said before; there WILL be specials because the HAS to be specials

Oh wow, you're in a very good position with both companies wanting you to work for them! It is flattering See who gives you the best deal and take it from there. Congrats on the situation
Mike doesn't handle "ut oh's" too well! In Bermuda we had a full day cushion so I knew we'd make it back to the ship, we had a whole night with ferries, buses, taxi, etc. to get there In St. Thomas it's our last stop before disembarkation the next morning in San Juan. By the time we could get a flight out, the ship would be loading the next cruise The Plan B looked very unattractive!

Lars, you need to look at the Balcony and Mini-Suite categories as they are really less than the oceanviews and close to interior pricing! Makes absolutely no sense to me but that's what I'm seeing here for the 2009 sailings.
For the 2010 sailings, I agree, Princess does seem to have some very expensive pricing!
