sure Mike wount do it in conjunction with a cruise (j/k)

I am sorry you are having the freeze problems.
I did - again!! - have a fit because our modem was dead, dead, dead....I ran around a little again until I noticed the plug had been pulled out of the wall. Well, I have to tell you that all the modem/tele plugs are connected to an extention cord which is connected to another wich is connected to the wall

Judy, I know you wont tell but your photos will tell all looking forward to see them already!!
getting exited yet??? over both your cruises??!!!!

Lars, it sounds like you need some electric outlets installed too!

I finally made it to the bookstore yesterday I bought a Caribbean travel guide. It's called Caribbean Ports of Call; A Guide for Today's Cruise Passengers 7th Edition. It covers the Eastern & Southern Regions. I bought this one because it had "city" maps in addition to the island maps. The others mainly had island maps with a smaller map of the city which you could barely see! It also has a couple Walkabouts for some of the islands so they're like little walking tours of the main cities.

I also bought Twilight and New Moon in paperback. They had the other 2 books, but only in hardcover and I figured they would weigh more if it came to taking them with me on a plane My thoughts were that in the next couple months they should come out in paperback and if I'm done the first two, I'll pick them up then.

Yes I am getting excited I was waiting until today or tomorrow to book my RCL excursions that we're doing through the ship and talking to DH about adding MTD vs. early seating and prepaying our tips. My Discover card statement ended yesterday so now when I book these things, the bill won't be generated until August 3rd and I won't need to pay it until the end of August right before we leave.

I also now realize I am just way too excited over some of these things, like billing statements and using the credit card company's money for free for 45 to 60 days

Judy, I will look for the thread for you.

Also, if you are still freezing up, try turning off your pm feature. That seems to work for Lulu.

    Thanks Hanna

I now have everything that makes mention of PM disabled.

That was the thread in addition to a couple others I've found. Thanks!

Any recommendations on travel insurance companies? I always had some form of insurance and coverage, mostly I worried about cancellation before since I've never really had something I needed to take medication daily for before so now I'm a little more concerned about the medical coverage and medical evacuation for some stupid reason

    Judy,
Wait and see if Pete, cruiseplanner, comes back with a recommendation.
I haven't got my insurance yet either, so I will be right there with you!

And it's an age thing girl. Can't you just see yourself with a gall bladder attack on the ship? Or some other thing that would totally screw it up.

Don't I know it! I miss my major worry being "will we get the money back?"

After a few land vacations I've been on where people have had medical issues, one being an emergency, you'd think I would have looked at this closer sooner.

Usually we have stupid or self inflicted things happen, Mike clocked himself in the eye with a 2 foot wrench fixing an automotive thing on his truck in South Dakota, had a real nice shiner that he told everyone we met I gave to him for looking at other women at the Sturgis rally! He also got bit by a spider in FLL (be careful of bugs there!) and his knee swelled up to twice the size of his other one.

It's the "OMG" ones I'm concerned with.

    HI Judy

Paying for a cruise is exciting. Thats one of the very few things I pay with pleasure
    Did you start Twilight??????
    Excursions booked???

I think I have to buy one of those "How to redo you house for dummies" books!!
I hate doing those kind of things but I suppose I have to learn anf give it a go

    Hi Lars

I haven't started reading Twilight yet, but I've been referencing my Caribbean book quite a bit!

I added My Time Dining this afternoon and had to wait for them to update my reservation before I could go in and book the Kayak tour. So those 2 things are done now

This may be redundant since I've mentioned it on the AOS roll call, but we already booked the Harley tour for Aruba; that's the only thing I'm planning to do there now with the Ruby cruise coming up fast after Adventure. We're set for Curacao (kayaking) and Mike is okay with taking the chance for the private whale watching excursion since if we had to cancel we'd only be out $20. I don't want to be out anything, but they limit the passengers to 12 on their boat so it will be much less crowded than the cruise line's operator. Mike really hates crowds!

The only port we haven't narrowed down is St. Thomas. The logistics of getting to Coral World for the Sea Lion Swim may be more than Mike wants to deal with...ya know those "crowd" issues come into play So I'm leaning more towards going to St. John.

Also, on Ruby I'll be going to St. Thomas and Princess offers a ship sponsored Swim with Sea Lions excursion for their current excursions (our sailing dates aren't listed yet on their website) so I'm thinking if I really want to do that, I could do that then and the transportation to Coral World would be provided

So really I just need to narrow down St. Thomas/St. John for AOS.

I think we'll end up doing a post-cruise tour from the ship with airport drop off in San Juan also either to del Morro or San Cristobal, but I'll probably wait until we're onboard the ship to book that.

I'm not going to pre-book the specialty restaurants. Since we've got access to the Concierge I could make a res through them, plus we have $150 OBC, although with Mike being on the cruise with me, we'll probably have that spent by day 2!

Unfortunately there have been no price changes since my promotion thing, but I keep watching every day! Don't worry, if one happens I'll be aware of it

No price drops on the Princess cruises I've been watching either.....

When you own the house, it saves tons of money if you can do the work yourselves and just call in the pros when you need them...like for electric or moving around of water/drainage lines! If you're just replacing what's there and not moving them, it's not as involved.

It also helps in the repair area, because we all know that pipes usually leak on Sunday or a holiday and plumbers want more money to come out then!
