I think yesterday really frustrated Mike so it took the momentum out of him to get started on anything today...currently he's watching the race on TV, through closed eyelids

There is plenty to do around here, I just can't get my brain going on what to start with and it's 4pm

I was thinking trimming the hedges is about an hour so I could squeeze that in before it gets dark. I do have some laundry to do so I'm sure a couple loads will get done before the night is over.

I haven't talked to her in a little while, but I think she said something about Jack having a class reunion and something else? I know she said she had things planned for a few weekends so we'd be safe from them coming to sit out back on our patio

they don't come to visit us, it's the yard they're here for

you have been extremly busy lately so even tho its lots of things to do around the property its nice to do what Mike is doing right now

Its to cold outside to do anything there so garden stuff has to wait unitl the sping

I dont mind at all

Same thing, I dont plan to do anything in the middle floor in this house but for the rest I better get my lazy behind out of the sofa and do something

I think Robin wrote something on "A" s FB...not sure....she did as what the name of the airport for Aalesund was called....I hope they make the trip over....with you

Adam and Stevie are planning on visiting in May, I think.

Robin was also asking me if I knew how far you were from Oslo. I told her either a train or plane away

I did tell her that a non-stop probably wouldn't be available and that there would be connections either via London, Paris or Oslo and possibly Copenhagen. I did tell her to stay away from Lufthansa since she'd be routed via Frankfurt most likely and that the flight would go further east when really what you want is north.

She didn't say when? I know my schedule won't allow for anything until Fall 2010. I would love to do a Fjords cruise so I may be looking at Summer 2011 if I attempt that and a visit back to back

So many trips and renovations needed, so little time & money!

Good Morning Guys,

Well this weekend was busy. We had Jack's 30 yr class reunion and we had a ball. We haven't seen some of the people there for maybe as long as the reunion.

Sat we went to see a band and again had a great time. I realize I can not drink. Friday I had only 3 glasses of wine but I did not feel real good on Sat. Sat night I decided to have Vodka and tonic and it was better but I came to the conclusion it must really mess with my sugar so my butt is really dragging.

On Friday during the day I got on my hands and knees and scrubbed the outside deck with bleach. It had gotten moldy from all the water and flower pots. OMG it stunk. It looks great now. I also did our white vinyl fence that we had out front. Today I tackle out back. I'm only going to do the one side and see how well that looks. I also have to mail out some things that I sold on ebay. I'm working on the Louie Vuitton handbag...LOL now once I get that much money together I might not want to spend it...LOL Jack said what's the difference if I buy two bags that cost as much as one.....

I also have to stop at the dollar store to pick up some things for my windows for Halloween. I know late but better late then never.

Yes Lars I did check into the flights for Summer but right now they are 2100.00 for two round trip flights to Oslo (sp?)and with the way work is for Jack we may not be able to do it then. But you can bank on us coming....By plane or broom

We are putting off the counters. Yes we could take it out of the bank but we hate to do that so I will wait to see how work is. Boss man said he would try to work Jack 3-4 days a week. Yea I bet he would since if he does that then we can't collect unemployment. I guess we will see. Right now we have lost about 2,000 a month between overtime and bonus. I really can not stand boss man. he's all about himself and never about who's doing the work. He has taken a man out of the field
doing his job and he paid an outside man 200 a day without 1099 him. He's too lazy to follow up leads I'm not sure what the hell he does anymore.

Lars I'm a weird one. I love to see the drywall go up. It's like a clean slate and the possibilities are endless. It's like a blank canvas before you paint. I can't wait to see the master piece. I think that's one of the reasons that Jack would love to move. He has so many idea's in his head that he wants to do. Me on the other hand would have a nervous breakdown being a neat freak. I don't know if I could live through another whole house renovation.

Well off for now to take Spence to school then to start my chores.

Well it's been a busy day, both at work and home. I hopped on here earlier a couple times and each time I got interrupted. Hopefully I won't get interrupted now since it's late, but one never knows

Mike's truck is out of the backyard and parked where it belongs, in the driveway on concrete!

OMG was it stuck, it was in the grass/dirt/mud up to the axles

He had to jack it up and fill the holes with bricks under each tire and then he was able to drive it out. I told him to let me put the dog in the house before he attempted to move it and to not hit the brakes if it moved

Oh well, no good deed goes unpunished!

Robin, was my brother at the reunion? I don't think Mike's brother went because he didn't mention anything. Yep, they both graduated with Jack

Well, your butt could also be dragging from being hungover

I hope you got your bleaching done today, they're calling for more rain tomorrow into Wednesday. Did the earth tilt extra or something? We've never had so much rain, I think we're getting the Pacific Northwest's weather! There was 4" of rain up the mountains on Saturday, apparently our village made the listing on the news up there of one of the areas hit with the most rain. BIL checked on the house for us today and it's still there and not floating down the creek so all is well

Did you get a quote on the counters before you decided to hold off? I'm curious if the pricing was close to granite and quartz with the integrated sink.

Lars, I hope you didn't work too hard today! How is the refurb coming along? Does it look like your crew are on track for their timeline?

Any new plans in motion?

I have kitchen cabinet samples here now and have picked out my cabinets

Now I have to do the layout in 3D, it's done in 2D, subject to tiny revisions...it's kind of tough to get exact dimensions until we know what's behind the drywall on the exterior walls because we need to insulate. We didn't want to punch holes in the walls just yet

I think Mike would like me to try to do the 3D layout before I leave for the cruise, but it sounds like it may be a Thanksgiving weekend project to me

I have to go buy the software because the program we have is more for bathrooms and/or building a house vs. kitchen renovations. It has limited sized cabinets so none of my cabinet dimensions are in the current program.

Sounds like you both have been busy!!
OUCH on the airfare, Robin....Do they serve you drinks if you go by broom? Never heard about that airline before

I am working darys this week and I hate it!!!!! Its to much going on at home right now for me to be away. Its hard to explain a plumber what I want and which pipes to take a way over the phone.
I need to be here during the daytime to have total control over everything

The refurb is coming along......the painter has painted the 2 walls in the kitchen and the wallpaper is up

The next room he has to do is the dining room. I think he starts there tomorrow. I had 2 rolls of wallpaper to little so I had to order them today.

they arrive on Thursday!!!
The carpenters have guttet the bathroom and the hall. They are going to start setting up the wall between the hall and the bathroom tomorrow. Also, the new windows arrive tomorrow.
They are making to much mess for my taste and I told them twice to clean up their stuff!!!
They are very eager to start with the loft but as I have told them 1000000 of times before, nothing gets started upstairs before donestairs is finished an I have gotten a quote for the loft job!! My G, I think they are a bit slow or something

....The crew is not on the timeline...I dont think it will be finished before sometime next week....which is OK, I suppose....
I need to call the shop I bought the fireplace from to talk about delivery....and and and there is so much I need to do that I dont get time to do since I am at work during the daytime.............

BTW, I cant find the 4 poster bed that I want....well, I found one in black gloss but I aint paying the price they are asking for it.....I wanted a bed not a cruise

Maybe I should ask my carptenter to build me one???

I skipped lunch today so I could leave early...I'm outta here @ 4pm. I'm on a mission to find 3D kitchen software...well my mission will consist of going to Staples

I'm not going to run all over the place tonight, it's raining here and I'm too tired.

It seems like the crew is moving along. I would also wait until they were done the downstairs first to make sure you like what they do! If they start upstairs and messed up downstairs you'll be in even a bigger mess

Lars, On the bed...but, but, but a cruise is only for 7 thru 14 nights, your bed, on the other hand, will be used every day/night over the next 10 years

Good luck at Staples!!!

I know a bed last longer then a cruise but......I dont know......there is an amount I would pay for a bed and there is an amount I wouldnt.
I could get the white 4 poster bed at Ikea

...sand it down, paint it black gloss and spend LOTS of money on the perfect matress

Anyway, thats minor stuff and I am not in a rush to get one....tho I might sound different

What day are you leaving for the cruise again??? November 3???
