The house is making quite a few new noises and probably will every time Mike is away since he is not here snoring and drowning out the noises!
It's raining and very windy here and the windows are old and rattle so it sounds like the wind is in the house Diva doesn't seem to be bothered by the noises, although she acts deaf so maybe she's not hearing them?
Since you can't remember, you will be surprised when it's installed You are not wasting any time with your renovations! It's going to be so nice when everything is done
I think I've decided what cabinets we're going to use. I was on the fence with whether I wanted light or dark cherry wood, but the dark is calling to me more. I also love the look of hickory, but that just screams cabin to me and won't really match anything else I plan to do here, so hickory is out for here. I was looking at range hood vents today and just about fell off my chair when I found one I liked for $8,000.00 I refuse to pay that kind of money for essentially "air"
....it is way to early in the morning....I pulled a 14 hours work shift yesterday and should be asleep but I woke up because of a bad cough.......so here I am coffee in hand and ready for another cigarette
You do like your wood. I like it to but I personally wood () not choose it on my cabinets much due to the fact that the room is small, and a dark colour would make it looks smaller.....says the man who plans to paint 2 of the walls brown My painter did not like that idea
BTW, I have no kitchen island.
I like hickory also. It looks very good on floors
With dark cherry wood what kind ofcolour on the counter top would you have???
NO WAY would I pay that amount for air...why, is the ventilator shaped like a round crystal lamp??' I have seen those...very smart!!

We did go out looking for wall to wall carpet for the bedroom.
We found a good one but not sure about the colour yet.
The walls in the bedroom are light yellow, cream and gold stripes and one wall pattern. All the furniture will be black gloss.
I was thinking black carpet but not sure now...maybe cream?????
What do you think???????????

I thought I should try to sleep last night, our heater makes a loud bang that sounds like someone shut a door every so often so I jumped up 3 times making sure it was the heater and not a door I didn't really get too much sleep and I'm supposed to get my photo for my license this afternoon. I'll be stuck with this photo for 4 years. Oh well, maybe the officer who has to see it will feel sorry for me by the looks of my license
My bathroom at my old house was black & white and I truly hated to clean that thing. I told Mike only stained wood in all the rooms at this house. I don't mind cleaning, but I hate cleaning when it feels like an event!
Wow, you have a huge amount of counter space! I would love to have that much counter top! 2 walls being brown will add depth with the way your eye will see it I find it fascinating the way that different color walls draw the eye.
I haven't found all my materials for the kitchen yet, but I keep picturing my cherry cabinets with a mahogany colored finish, a medium to dark gray ceramic tile floor, stainless appliances, black accent and the color of the cabinet mouldings and a stone counter top with flecks of gray, white, and black in it. Since the cabinets will be dark, the counter would definitely be lighter for the contrast. My current window in the kitchen is 8 foot and we're probably going to shrink that down to 6 foot because it's messing up my upper cabinet space layout.

What do you want to stand out the most in the bedroom, the furniture or the walls? The black carpet and black furniture may be too much black and your furniture will not stand out as much on that as it would with cream carpet. But, if you want your walls to stand out, black carpet and black furniture will make that happen. Black carpet will show dust easily. I have a piece of black carpet in my house since Tasha was having issues with the hard wood floors and right after vacuuming, it looks like it could use it again
One color you didn't mention was gold The same gold as your stripes.
Also, have you noticed a cleaning theme that gets added when I think about renovating?

I want the walls and the furniture to stand out so I guess cream will do the trick.
I was thinking of a gold colour also
Black gets dirty very fast. We also have a black carpet and it isnt pretty after a little while.
I have noticed the cleaning theme going on here I dont think to much about that........yet.....except for our whiite gloss kitchen........and I want a white carpet in the dining room.....not the best ideas with Vidar and "A" around

Lars has lost it. White carpet in the dining room? I had white carpet in the whole house for almost 20 yrs. With a teenage son too. And cats. We didn't wear shoes much.

That big brown hammered range hood is a little blah
Black carpeting just seems to attract particles from out of nowhere Lars, white carpeting is stunning, but will you be eating in that dining room?
I never used to worry about the cleaning aspect, but when we redid the old house and it would take me 1/2 the time to clean the kitchen with those stainless appliances vs. the bathroom I made up my mind that if we moved I'd never do that to myself again
I spent the afternoon running around to all the Home Stores, but I didn't make it to the lighting store to discuss their pricing for my outdoor lights. I didn't find anything that is close to the ones I'm stuck on So it's either the lighting store can get them and beats the online price, or I'll be ordering them online. I was also looking at counter top materials, but I haven't found the "one" yet. It was actually a depressing shopping excursion since I also was looking for formal clothes for the cruise, but didn't find anything so I'll be wearing things I already own I did find a pair of white capris for $5.99 though
