Sailing Catamaran To Bequia
6 Hours -- $149 pp
Hoping to get a better report from someone who has taken this since we did.
We had an unfortunate expeience when we took this one a couple of years ago!
The main sail was broken when we boarded the catamaran so we really should not have gone but they felt they could fix it.(Wrong) Then, the electrical system went out. About all we did as promised on our schedule was make it to Bequia for a very quick 20 minute stop. The rest of the time was spent trying to get back to St. Vincent. Not many were willing to eat the lunch since the refrigeration was out. We totally ran out of ice. Lots of Brits were with us and they were even unhappy with the lack of ice so you know it was bad!
Then, we ran out of glasses and drinks except bottles of rum. I kid you not -- we were passing around bottles of rum and drinking it directly from the bottle. Some had been in the Royal Navy so we started singing old sailing songs .... When we got back about two hours late at that point singing "God Save the Queen", the ship had a shuttle to get us back to the ship quickly and not delay sailing any longer than we alread had. PAX clapped for us as we boarded.
Normally, I post a report on our shore excursions but had not until now on this one because it was, hopefully, a one time thing. Only doing so now hoping to attract the attention of someone else who has done this with a better experience BECAUSE we have an upcoming port stop in St. Vincent and it seems like it might be good if things had been different.
Would we be totally foolish to give it another try????

Silly as it may seem, we actually did have fun. Not the sort of fun we expected but things were what they were. A group of us decide to "Just Make the Best of It"!
