Smile REPORT: St.Thomas - "Sea Blaster Speedboat & Snorkel Tour"

The Sea Blaster is a 70-foot turbo diesel speedboat. Expect to get TOTALLY wet! We even had to wear our masks on the ride over to see!
It was really quite a fun ride!

Because of the speed, we were able to get to an excellent snorkel spot that would not have been possible on other three hour tours. The ocean was tough that day but our achor location at a beautiful sheldered cove was perfectly calm with warm clear blue water.

After the instructions on where to snorkel, etc. we had about 90 minutes to snorkel where we wished or to just play in the water. Additional help was then given to first time snorkelers as well as to those who needed extra help.

I was impressed with the crew! If they noticed someone's mast did not seem to fit exactly right, they'd insist on helping them adjust it or find another. They really seemed to want everyone to have a great time!

The "Skipper" commented on my Heavenly Days hat. When he learned my husband and I had been on the Heavenly Days catamaran several times, he said that we normally passed it going back. We did! He pulled up very close and had me wave my hat at them. Everyone on both excursions began talking with and toasting each other. Fun!

The trip back was a gentle ride ... going with the current. Made drinking a glass of rum punch (ok... several glasses) easier.

It was a very good excursion!

Please feel free to ask if you have any other questions.

Where can I get more info on this? Was this a ship excursion or did you book it privately?

Karen .... We booked it through the ship. On ours it was about 3/4 from Carnival and 1/4 from Princess. The "skipper" told me that their excursion is now offered by all of the mass market cruise lines. The cost was $55 pp.

We booked this Sea Blaster/Snorkel Excursion because of a "timing factor". Way much better than we expected! Excellent way to spend 3 hours in St.Thomas!

If you have any other questions, I'll do my best to answer!

Good tips and descriptions - I will be sure to look at this more carefully when in St. Thomas next month.

I am going to have to check out our Princess ship and see if they offer this. It sounds like a blast!

Thanks for your kind comment! It is recommended for those looking for EASY access in and out of the water... but, clueless about medical restrictions.

The boat speeds very rapidly through the water. EVERYONE gets TOTALLY WET! It is more of a FAST ride than it is a bumpy, twisty ride.

Beth .... Here's the one you were asking about. Hope you can find it now. Yes, do think the teenaged boys would have a great time.
