I have been to Paradise Point several times - I could've sworn there was an elevator to the platform. Either way - here's the link to SkyRide's home page (again) - there'a gallery of photos, etc and an email address to the CEO - I say we should ask them directly....

I have sent one earlier today...lets see if I get a response. There was no way there could be an elevator at the top though and those were just as bad.

Here is the response I received regarding the stairs and accessability. There is not an elevator, and he only gave an estimate of stairs.

Dear Angie,

Unfortunately St. Thomas and in particular Paradise Point is very mountainous. We have a way for handicap access which includes taking a taxi to the top and riding the skyride from top to bottom and returning instead. Our observation area at the top is accessable this way as well.

There are indeed many stairs from the street level to the base station (about 25). At the top there are about the same number to see all of Paradise Point too.

Please contact us shortly before you arrive and we will assist you to experience the fun and view at the top as best we can.

We took a tour with Sunny Liston for $20 each and he took us all over including Paradise Point and Mountain top so we thought it was better value as ride was$16. We had 2 hours for tour, 2-3 hours shopping and 2 hours beach as well as a grat time.

Greetings from St.Thomas!

Received another reply to my question...here it is....

Like any ski lift, we are perched on the side of a hill and everything
involves going up and down to various levels.

The skyride is boarded by stairs only at the street. There are 36 steps.

Paradise Point has several sets of steps, each are approximately 10 steps each.

If you were interested in seeing the view, perhaps you could negoiate with a
taxi driver on the pier to bring you up to Paradise Point by road. The observation area is right off the parking lot. The skyride is accessible from the top station. You you can ride the skyride down and back up to Paradise Point and then taxi back down the hill.

Be sure to bring your camera!
