My daughter & friends did "Screamin' Eagle" in the spring on a cruise. They told me that it "got old" in a hurry -- like being on a choppy FLAT roller coaster for TOO LONG!

They are 25 or so ... and thought it was boring.

Hope some others will give you an opinion as well!

Very best, LuLu

bs_outwest, Not a banana ride where it's possible to fall/slip off. It's a "seated" boat that goes VERY rapidly for fun and thrills! :icon_smil

I just got back from a caribbean cruise and i went on the screaming eagle. The captain of the boat (I think his name is Jim) is a complete jerk. He is only interested in getting as much money out of you as possible. Makes you buy sunglasses and a strap if you dont have them ($15, $10 for sunglasses $5 for strap). He gives you a speach about how much you should tip him (at least $5 per person). DONT TELL ME HOW MUCH TO TIP YOU!! Thats after you pay an initial $50.

Captain Jim (or whatever his name is) is retired from G.E. and lives on the island. He said he went to college at 16 or something. SO YOU KNOW THIS GUY HAS MONEY. or SHOULD have money.

the boat ride is so short you forget you go on it. And honestly, its boring. Ive been on anoher jet boat ride. This did not even compare. if you want to waste your money...choose the screaming eagle.

Yikes, thanks for the info Tommy

My Signature Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

We just got back from St. Thomas where we were talked into going on the Screaming Eagle. We were hesitent, because of the review we read on this site. But WOW, it was the best thing we did on the cruise. The boat spun around and stopped going 45mph. Like the best rollercoster ride you have been on and ON THE WATER!.
The driver/captain was so informative about the islands, we had great comentary, before, during and after the tour. And yes, they do sell all kinds of stuff, as every does every other tour, but unlike t-shirts (been their, done that, got the t-shirt)they had stuff we could eally use, and not at the high prices you pay for t-shirts. I don't know if we had the same driver as the review, ours had blond hair and wore an army type cap, but he was very professional. I recommend this tour, but bring a towel for after the ride as you will be soaked, and sunglasses to keep the salt water out of your eyes.

Sounds like LOTS OF FUN!

Since we enjoyed the "Sea Blaster", we'd probably also enjoy "Screaming Eagle"! Thanks so much for telling us about it!

Noticed this is your first CLF post. Great to have you as a part of the very friendly CLF family!

Thanks for the posts. I am thinking of sending my teenage boy on this when we visit St. Thomas.
