    Hi Tasha, a couple questions....

What cruise line are you going on?

Just about all of them have excursions to St. John; some are beach/snorkeling tours, sightseeing tours or water/snorkeling tours. What type are you looking for? Or were you looking for a private tour?

One of the things you can do is take a taxi to the ferry and then just wander about in St John.

We will be on royal caribbean. They only offer 1 excursion to st john. Is it very difficult to get a taxi at the port to get you to the ferry?

Tasha, no difficulty at all. There are many many many taxis there.

We did a snorkel trip on a catamaran thru a private company - it was only $65 pp, and we had a blast!! They take you over to St. John, you snorkel for awhile, then on the trip back it's all you care to drink! The 3 young hunky guys that ran it make some killer "pain killers". Would definitely do it again. It was thru St Thomas Excursions and Shore Tours Guide for St Thomas Cruise Ship Passenger

What's the name of the excursion they offer? Strange, normally RCCL offers more than one excursion to St.John ....

Tasha, there are normally between 7 - 10 shore excursions available thru Royal.

If you prefer to go to St. John's on your own, I understand. But if you were looking for a ship sponsored excursion are you sure there is only 1 tour offered? When we were there this past September we did the St. John's by Surf tour that was offered by Royal Caribbean. We had a hard time choosing between the many different excursions offered that went to St. John from St. Thomas and went with this one since we thought there might be less people and DH could drive his own boat
