Heading to "The Rock" end of the month

I am heading "home" to St. Thomas May 30th-June 6th. If there is anything anyone wants me to check out while there, please post here before then and I'll do my best while there.

According to the schedule I saw, it looks like we have a very light week that week for cruise ships, but my thoughts are if cruises continue to stay away from Mexico, it maybe a little busier than expected as trips get rerouted.

Char thanks. Not too worried about storms in June.

Well I got back on Saturday night and already miss it. We had a great week on The Rock, going to the beach, shopping, spending a day sailing to St. John ( see my post on Rumbaba) and just relaxing.

We arrived on Saturday the 30th and spend Sunday at Magen's Bay Beach. It was perfect, no ship crowds and the water was calm and relaxing. We spent a good part of the day watching the pelican's and frigate birds dive for fish. A sad site from Magen's Bay was up on the hill where a burned out Mountain Top can be seen. There is talk on the island of foul play and hopes that it is reopened in the near future once the necessary repairs are made.

Monday was our first day in town. Carnival Victory was in port ( see pics in separate post) and the shops were open. We had breakfast at Bumpa's on the waterfront and watching the "boat people" make their way from the taxi's to fill the stores. As I am eating I see someone familar, the Spiderman Themed safari bus of our own Conrad (boyconny) I finish eating and head down stairs to find Conrad tallking to some people about a tour. We intro and it was like old friends. We chatted for a few minutes, I made some intro's of my wife and in-laws and we departed. I saw him again on Wednesday taking a tour our people from the Freedom of the Seas that was in that day.

Tuesday was the sail ( see my post) Wednesday was a weird day. We sort of shopped at Havensite and Yacht Haven Grande, but the traffic was crazy, even with only one ship in. We had an appointment that afternoon at Frenchman's Reef for my in-laws to look at timeshare options so we spent all day just sort of doing stuff around there.

Thursday, I took everyone to the beach at Secret Harbor and a great day. Quiet, with good snorkling and waters. The day couldn't have been more perfect. No ships in, the island was quiet. We had a good lunch at Blue Moon Cafe there and great dinner at Frenchmans Reef's Coco Joe's restuarant which does an all you can eat lobster and prime rib buffet.

Friday was for last minute shopping and spent the day around the pool at The Cove and swimming at Evening Star beach. Unfortunately, Sat came too quickly and we were back in NJ by 6:30 last night.

    Welcome home Scott!

I really enjoyed your report. I don't blame you for being homesick, since as I read, I wished I had gone with you!

    MCcruiser, Char,

Thanks it was a great trip, as always. Check out the pics I posted of Carnival Victory, Explorer of the Seas and Freedom of the Seas in their respective folders. My camera broke while there on the first day and I bought a new one which really takes some sharp pics.
